Executions on Pay-Per-View, would you watch if the proceeds went to the victims family?

No, I don't think our society needs another blood-sport. It's disturbing enough what you can find online these days on shock video sites: people getting their heads sawed off by terrorists, people killing themselves on webcam, blah blah blah. I think we are desensitized enough as it is. Nobody should get their jollies by watching someone else die....that's messed up

Yup....but like boxing only if the featured victim interested me....prolly get old after a few times unless they spiced it up with pyrotechnics, blood and guts...

I think people on death row should die the same way they killed their victims.....an eye for an eye. Would also make for better Pay-Per-Viewing.

I'd pay extra if one of my ex's were the featured event.

I agree. Tonight here in Va they are killing the DC sniper. Nice soft lethal injection. He should be shot.

Executions should be public, quick, and painful.

Hiding them away completely eliminates any sense of "deterrence" from those who most need it.

If you weren't 100% sure the person is guilty, would you still watch?

"This fact is well supported in the US. Between 1973 and 2005, 123 people in 25 states were released from death row when new evidence of their innocence emerged

In Texas, Cameron Todd Willingham was convicted of murdering his three young daughters in 1991 by setting his house on fire. In 2009, a report conducted by Dr. Craig Beyler, hired by the Texas Forensic Science Commission to review the case, found that "a finding of arson could not be sustained". Beyler said that key testimony from a fire marshal at Willingham's trial was "hardly consistent with a scientific mind-set and is more characteristic of mystics or psychics." [7]. He was executed by lethal injection on February 17, 2004."

Right or wrong, the foaming masses got their revenge. Likely few of the foamy regret the truth of that case. Such is the risk of "someone's gotta pay!".

Yes, there are humans that shouldn't be. As long as the verdict is correct, it should be done more or less as it is done now (humanely[?], limited public and media witnesses). Not in secret, but not as entertainment/blood sport, either...

Restitution (proceeds) going to the families of the victims may be of little comfort, but would be of some help.....consider it restitution that they'd otherwise never receive.

Yeah, Like a stoning. Let everyone participate, get a couplea licks in . . . .

You can find a video of a stoning on the internet, and it might change your mind.

I've seen it and I'd love to see the John Muhammed get it and I'd be happy to participate. If you lived in the DC area at that time, you'd feel the same way. The stuff that makes stonings in Muslim countries so repulsive is that they're often done to victims and not perps or to folks who who did something pretty minor.

Yep.

I'll never forget the video that leaked out of Saudi Arabia I think it was where the young girl (maybe 16?) was stoned to death by a hoarde of people, all males... her naked body was kicked and beat and drug around, all completely sickening. Her crime? She was a 'whore' who 'allowed herself to be raped' by a man who wasn't her husband. Right.

The mindset of the 16-30 year old Saudi Arabian male is utterly f****ed. I used to live next to a group of Saudi guys here for schooling. I've never seen people be so derogatory to women, so hypocritical, and so narcissistic, especially with material possessions/ money.

Makes me frustrated and angry that such a people can exist and not have some sense of wrong.

I'm off topic... sry.
