The one that got away.
Not talking chicks, cars that you regret selling.
Had a 70 W-30 Olds, side by side automatic, box stock and only 100K when I let it go, about 1500 W-30's made in 1970 so it was a keeper. Was told there was about 175 green on green autoboxs sold that year. Sold for 8K seen them sell for 80K recently Wish I had that one back, it was 1 sweet ride |

Not exactly complete cars, but expensive parts:
Ford 427SOHC "Cammer" engine. Sold it for $12k a few years back and thought I made out like a bandit. Turns out the buyer got the better deal.... Weber 46IDA carbs - the 2bbl versions found on the 904. I had 4 in total i.e. 2 sets. I rebuilt them and sold them for a healthy profit. I didn't realize their relative rarity at the time and had offers for far more than I imagined.......of course after I sold them.

1971 camaro... the rest? i hope they rusted. now my stepdad's list would make me cry....he had a norton commando, and a triumph bonneville at the same time. he had a late 60 vette, and a 914-6 which he sold for a 75-targa..damn. he also had a 70 golden eagle cj7...for those in the know, they came with V-8's. this jeep was the baddest arse, gas guzzling bundle of fun that i ever have been behind the wheel of. early ramsay winch...i got laid repeatedly in the desert with that damn thing. i wish.....

Like a broken record...
My 81 Euro SC was the best 911 I have ever run. It was just that bit better than every other car, and was well set up. It could post FTDs in the right hands. My wife didn't like it, and in a weak moment I sold it. At least I had the pleasure of owning it. |

Would that be the pre-production 67 Z-28 for $5000 or the 74 euro spec carrera for $7500? Yes. I regret them both.

1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350H...the ones that Hertz rented. Black with gold skunk stripes. Bought it with a blown 4 speed tranny for $750 in 1970. Only 1000 were produced and only 100 of those had a 4 speed. Rebiuilt transmission with my dad. My first car. Spun it on a wet street 3 years later and trashed qtr panel. Ended up selling it for less than ONE of the valve covers would go for today.

![]() Bought it (used) at the age of 18, sold it about 8 yrs later and used the proceeds to purchase an IBM clone AT PC - with a whopping 8 Mhz cpu, 512k ram, a floppy drive, and an amber Hercules CGA monitor!

'67 Chevy Malibu.... 300-horse 327, PowerGlide tranny. No power steering or power brakes but did have factory air.
She ran like a scalded dog. And easiest car I've ever worked on. Got traded my junior year of high school for a '74 Harley Sportster iron head chopper. Sharp bike, to be sure, but no where near as cool as the Chevy.
