Speed Channel Disappointment

Well, in the past, I could switch to the Speed Channel and stand a pretty good chance of seeing some decent racing. Sports car stuff, off road stuff, shows on different types of car stuff.

Now, 9.9 times out of 10.............it's ( you guessed it ) NASCAR Crap......not even a NASCAR race, just stupid pre-pre-pre-pre race / pit NASCAR Crap!

So bad, I don't even check Speed Channel anymore.

HDTheatre has better motorsport/car content.

i watch the automotive programing on direct tv's HD theater more than i do speed by a long shot these days. isle of man, wrc, speedway bikes and a bunch of other cool shows. the shelby America's greatest race car on last week comes to mind.

I cancelled my Speedvision subscription shortly after it turned into Speed.

It's pretty much been crap since.

Are you kidding? I wish it were Nascar. At least that's racing. All I see is Unique Whips, Pass Time and Barret Jackson.

I just program my DVR to record any ALMS, Grand-Am, F-1 racing and wait for it to catch the race. I have to agree they cover WAY too much NASCAR circle jerk racing for my tastes.

I had to check the date on this initial post as I came to this conclusion years ago. I can't remember the last time I even watched something on that channel...

They still have all the bike stuff. MotoGP, Superbike and SuperSport, plus MX. And, my guilty pleasure is Barrett-Jackson. I get totally sucked into that, when it's live. Nascar? Not just no, but hell no. Unique Whips? Unique compared to what? they all look exactly the same to me.

I did the same. I thought this was an old thread. SPEED sucks.

An earlier thread like this convinced me not to add the package that contains speed...

The last thing I watched on SPEED was Bergmeister and the Corvette coming together at the end of the Laguna Seca race. Those road races and F1 are all I watch on that channel.

That was an amazing finish. I had the entire show on my DVR. I start watching late and fast forward past the commercials.

Speed has sucked for at least 10 yrs.

Used to love wathin Alain Decadenet voice over the '50's LeMans and Classic Rally's as well as BTC, WRC, Dakkar and Isle of Man races etc.

Now its Billyjoejimbob talking about the next Martinsville race or how great an athelete Jimmy Johnson is....

I agree 100%....

For the most part, SPEED channel sucks big time.
Waste of time and money.
Maybe they will have the occasional and odd thing on that is good....most of time not.

I prefer F1, WRC-FIA rallying, Rides, Wheeler Dealers, Isle of Man TT, Chop Shop, Chasing Classic Cars, etc on the other channels.

The cr*p they show on SPEED is demeaning and whatever else you want to call it.
Never again will I ever watch SPEED.
Did someone want my opinion????

I have to agree with all the pre naspecar and dumba$$ tuner shows, but didn,t they show a poopload of the 24's LeMans and Rolex, Petit LeMans and ALMS, Moto GP?

Yup. They've been pretty much worthless for me since 2003 or so. That's about when they cancelled WRC and quit showing Victory by Design. HD Theatre is awesome.
