Like: Pa is a STRONG pro 2nd amendment state, and beautiful country out to the West of the city. Nice mountains, skiing, hunting, etc if you're into that stuff. Only state cops can use radar.
Dislike: Philadelphia. |

Like: Mountains, and the ability to get away from everybody and everything within 1 hour, no matter where you are located
Dislike: The rest of everything that goes along with a state that caters to big biz. Gotta love living somewhere, where you can be fired, not given a reason, and have no recourse.

I can't think of anything I don't like about Tennessee. I can see the Smoky Mountains and a TVA lake from my front yard. Good roads, great scenery, four seasons, no state income tax, some of the nicest people in the world...
Maybe...no good road courses close to my house. ![]()

CA:
Loved the weather, the culture, the easy way of life, Disneyland, creative culture, etc. Hated the taxes, the government, the traffic, the overcrowding, the endless parade of stupid morons that loved to act as though they had money (but didn't), the skyrocketing unemployment, the obligatory communal living (and associated idiot neighbors), the traffic, the filthy beaches, the occasional stench from east LA or the refineries, the cost of living (absurd), the deteriorating roads and infrastructure, the prevailing and entrenched socialist/pro-nanny-state mentality, etc. NH: Love the motto - "Live Free or Die". What America is/was/should be all about. Honest, legitimate economy with minimal unemployment. There are actually jobs here. Good ones. English-speaking people are a majority (unlike CA). Decent hiking/camping/skiing. No sales tax. Affordable. Honest. Real. Pleasant place to live. I have always and will always hate winter. But I guess it's an excuse to work on my "indoor projects" including the cars. Property taxes bite (but OTOH, there aren't any others - see above). Too many provincial, flannel-wearing, uneducated schlubs for my liking.

My family on one side settled in California in 1863.
On the other side my family has only been here 2 generations before me. THIS is my State. I love the memory of what it was. The home of Nixon, John Wayne, & Ronald Reagan. I love the weather. the beach & Mt. Baldy looming over me. I love the fact that when I was younger I had hope for my state and country. I loved going on epic mtn bike rides. 10 minutes later putting my bike back in my truck driving 2 miles to the surf. I do love the fact that I can eat my way around the world in 4 blocks. I love the fact that I have ART, Music, and some pretty intresting buildings and homes. That this is where my family is and has been for years. Great roads and towns to visit. What I hate ![]() That we have so many people here that people grow up with out any accountability. If you wrong someone don't worry you might never see them again in a area of 20 million people. That since a great part of the populace grew up elsewhere that there's very little since of community. I love little towns with a "shop local attitude" That our governor, and many of our repersenatives and senators are NOT Californians. I hate it that they feel that they're part of the solution, not part of the problem. That our state is a magnet for people that can't make it or are too odd to stay in a small town. I hate it that our harbour brings in plenty of goods that end up in homes 2,000 miles away. However the smog from the ships, cranes and trucks that haul the items to you stays in our L.A basin. I hate that it's very expensive to live here. It causes families to need both Mom and Dad to work to survive. This causes sons and daughters to be raised with-out proper supervision. Feral children turn into hoodlums. I hate that the City of Los Angeles has 1/3rd of it's people who send a great sum of it's $$$ out of the country to support people in third world countries. This cash DRAIN is a huge part of why we have a great amount of poverty in our county. I hate the grafiti, you can't see yourself in a mirror in a resturant's bathroom due to every third world gangbanger etching his gang's "placa" in every square inch. I could go on but it just makes me want to move.
