Hamilton beats Button...

In a reasonably-priced car.

Button loses first head-to-head clash with Hamilton - Planet-F1 News - from planet-f1.com

Quote:

Jenson Button has once again insisted that he can beat Lewis Hamilton at McLaren next season - but has lost his first unofficial confrontation with his predecessor as F1's World Champion.

Asked if he felt he could gain the upper hand over his new team-mate during an appearance on the BBC's Top Gear programme, Button replied: "That's the aim. I wouldn't be doing it if I felt I couldn't.

"This is a massive buzz for me. This is so exciting. I've been in Formula One for ten years now and having the chance to race alongside Lewis at McLaren is something I'm really excited about."

Button was in action on the show racing around their test track. He was recorded as completing a lap of 1:44.9 - a time two-tenths of a second slower than Hamilton's in conditions that the programme's host Jeremy Clarkson described as "exactly the same..."

Formula 1 is still around?

Silly me, i thought it went bye bye after Ayrton Senna died. Perhaps it was just the excitement that went bye-bye.

What a stupid "sport." I put on F1 races when i want to be lulled into a boredom induced nap. Seriously.

Line them up together on the track and see who wins. All it takes is the air to be a bit more dense from one day to the next and everything changes

I saw that episode last night.

It was pretty wet for Jenson's Lap.

Next season should be interesting (and 2009 was a great season). If you think the races are boring than you're not interested in auto sports. Sometimes qualifying sessions can be really exciting, more so than the actual race.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jenson and Lewis on the same team, they are both great drivers and seem like good guys too.

Sounds like Schumacher will be back as well with Brawn/Mercedes!

Yes. Clearly. Did you notice the

That said, I still think Hamilton is the better driver. Jenson only seems to be able to win when his car is light years ahead of the rest of the grid. (He was a mediocre drive before Brawn.) Hamilton can fight with a crappy car, and win with a mediocre car.

Hamilton was winning more than Button in the second half of 2009, I expect that is a good preview of 2010.

I like Button, think he's a class guy, was happy to see him bring it home for Brawn and England, but I don't think he's quite in Hamilton's league.

2010 looks to be a good F1 year, looking forward to it. Now if I could figure out how to get this HD channel w/ WRC . . .
