65 Impala or 68 Chevelle. Both with 4spd transmissions.

Agreed...that much torque wouldn't need beyond a 4 speed. Also wouldn't need a light body. Leno made a wise choice.

when I sold my 64 Corvette I was looking for one of those, not 69 but 70/71 with a small block-they run cooler- and four speed, I just found the Porsche first. I still like the 70/71 but they are now getting up in price.

Best part is, it's only $20k as shown. What would it cost for similar performance from a 911 type motor? Put a "1" in front of that if you are building a 935 motor, the only one that can even come close. Hell, have one of the acknowledged masters of our motors rebuild yours for significantly greater performance, and you will easily spend significantly more than $20k for the required parts and their expertise. Even rebuilding and hot rodding my own 3.0, at home in my spare time, had me north of $10k in parts and machine work. The "lesser" crate engines from the big three can be had complete, on your doorstep, for less than that. No core charge, either...

For not much money you can get a small block chevy crate with more horsepower than you can use on the street. 572 is for someone like Leno.
