New Members of the Household

We picked these guys up at the local no kill shelter we support. Seven month old litter mates, neutered males. I know they don't look alike. Female cats are sluts, many litters have multiple daddies.

They were both in the same cage, so we decided to spring them both. After reading the note written by their previous owners, their names will remain Garfield & Snowball. Previous owners are victims of the current "recovery", could no longer afford them. They did the right thing by not simply abandoning them.

We walked in thinking we wanted one kitten. But hell, everybody wants a kitten. It's the older cats who wait forever to be adopted. Now that the cats have adapted here, we know we did the right thing.

The pic says it all...it would have been criminal to separate these two.

Very cool and good on ya. I've never adopted a kitten - always adult cats from local "kill" shelters. They seem to appreciate it more...

Our original cat and our two new cats do not. Our house is one big war zone. I keep hoping a truce will emerge.

Previously, all our other cats arrived one at a time. There was always a "war zone" period, but then they began to tolerate each other. Alas, never close buddies like these two brothers.

Great! I love animals - all animals. In the realm of common household pets, I think cats are unique. People who don't understand them say they have no loyalty, are aloof, etc. while they are unique in that they are essentially wild animals who "choose" to live with you - as long as you give them love (and, wild animals or not, they DO reciprocate!).

Unlike dogs, who will remain faithful to their master/mistress no matter how much they may be abused by them, cats will simply say "FK YOU!" and leave.

Great looking little creatures; kudos to you for bringing them together into your life.
