Thing is my DSLR only takes CF. So I am stuck. I take A LOT of pictures and need a quick, easy, and cheap solution to put my pictures onto my computer. $49 dollars eh? Doesn't sound that bad. |

Connection to peripherals will presumably be wireless (WLAN and Bluetooth). I'm unclear if the keyboard dock will also enable USB connection. You said RAM but I assume you mean non-volatile memory. Versions from 16GB to 64GB. 16GB is about as much as an iPhone holds. 64GB is quite a bit, but still not enough to hold entire libraries if you have a fair bit of stuff. Presumably your Mac or PC will share files with the iPad over WLAN. (To give you an idea of sizes, I just checked my iPhoto library, it has 45,000 items in 41GB, and my iTunes library has 9,000 items in 74GB.) Why not 200GB+? Well, hard drives eat power and are bulky, and 200GB of flash is still pretty expensive - and flash price is extremely volatile which makes stable device pricing difficult. |

http://www.amazon.com/SD-CF-II-Type-Adapter-Supports/dp/B000YZGCIU if you want/need to use SD cards instead. $14, puts a SD card inside a CF card body. |
Weird, I cannot get that URL to show - anyway, Google "SD to CF convertor" and click the Amazon link. |
yea, battery life is more important , & technology slowww, maybe the future will have solid state drives in these things, too costly but cool |
Why not have an SD slot on the side? Why do you have to pay extra for everything? |

Add me to the list. I'm getting one but it's not worth fighting about it. You like it or you don't. What it can do is attractive to me. |

 porsche4life your wrong, Super_Dave_D: I agree ... GEEZ! |
I'm sorry I just don't see this selling 2.5 mill in the first quarter... |
My wife told me to get 2 when they come out!! Lol |
Time will tell, only thing that can stop it is the economy, not the product IMHO, I read where 1 guy was going to put presentations on them and hand them to his customers to keep, when your spending 10,000's of $$$ on campaigns to get business = drop in the bucket( his words)... another guy said he was going to buy 1 for everyone in his family... go to the site I posted uh yea my wife wants 1 toooo |
porsche4life; your not an Apple guy, so let me put this in perspective, what if you had 125million people( on itunes w/credit cards on file) that you could sell this to and a strong foreign market & distribution service(stronger than usa actually)would u be worried |
But how many of those 125 million will run out and beat down the door to buy this thing in the first 3months? I am one of those 125 million btw... As are pretty much all of my friends.... Haven't heard any of them freaking out about this thing.... |

 You'll see |
It's cheaper than the first edition iphone and that has done pretty damn well. Go in to any Apple store almost anytime of the day and people are buying stuff, it's like a disease. They want the best and the newest. It amazes me how people spend money for this stuff. I have two MacBooks and an iphone and I think I'm very conservative as an Apple customer. I think it will sell like hotcakes. |
I'll weigh in...I personally have no desire for it. Not only do I not like touch screens, but I've never had any interest in e-readers to begin with...I guess maybe I'm old-fashioned but I'd rather pick up a book or a newspaper any day and have something to physically hold and touch and feel, not a flat, lifeless touchable computer...plus, the $499 price puts me right off too... |
A friend of mine says he likes the feel of a newspaper, coffee in the morning too, I told him he'd better enjoy it while he can |

It has WLAN, and you're going to be syncing it with your PC/Mac anyway, most people won't need an SD card slot. Some said the iPhone needed an SD card slot, but that product has enjoyed a bit of success without it. I don't think it's a big deal, but YMMV. I've decided to get one if I can replace a couple of my print subscriptions. That alone makes the $ pay off. Plus less old paper piling up around the house. Quote:
