But really who are we kidding here, watching a 15 minute ensemble on tv is never going to be good. Has there ever been a good half time show that has sounded great on tv?

tom petty superbowl 42.

You know the funny thing about this is that more often than not, the National Anthem sounds better on tv! Nearly every time I've heard the anthem at a live event, I've heard it through 2 or 3 speakers with an echo or delay.

But live rock has to been seen live, if only to soak up the atmosphere of the performance, it just isn't normally going to happen on tv.

Perhaps if I had seen The Who play live before this show I would have a different reaction.

I thought they were, and i do recall it being pretty good.

Aerosmith in their prime did it once too, and IIRC was also very good.

I don't like live shows because i don't like crowds. I'll tolerate a crowd to see someone i REAAAAALLY want to see, but that's a rare occurrence.

<br>
They could have put Chris Cornell up there playing Soundgarden or Audioslave hits. Nickleback is pretty mainstream. There are a TON of great younger bands. A ton. Hell, Justin Timberlake would have been better.
Nickelback? Justin timberlake? Have you been huffing the nitrous Moses?

Bring back the Stones every year.

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:11 AM

The Stones are old and boring and Played ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.

I'd rather eat broken glass than see a stones performance.

Too bad the dude from Alice in Chains O.D'd. I love their stuff.

enzo1 02-08-2010 11:16 AM

saw the Who july 1971, I was 13, friends dad dropped 4 of us off at the Dallas Reunion Arena, 3rd concert ( 1)Grand funk railroad (2) Led Zeppelin (3) The Who..... that was quite a month! The SB concert is only a fragment of their former selves, this is what it was like YouTube - The Who - Baba O'riley (live Keith Moon)

Nope. I don't care for ****ty young person music.

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:22 AM

Destiny's child is not exactly "young peoples music" it's been around a long time, and you cannot go into any club without hearing their stuff.

It's hard to even watch TV for a couple hours and not see Beyonce' on some station or commercial or whatever.
Which works for me. She's smoking freaking hot.

enzo1 02-08-2010 11:27 AM

hot, hot, hot!!!

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:31 AM

Anyone who allows themself to depart this earth without first watching Beyonce' shake her ass to some of her music is an idiot. :)

That is doubly true for Shakira.

You guys should all watch the Destiny's child videos i posted just to watch three extremely healthy black chicks shaking dey moneymakers like there's no tomorrow.

Those chicks can REALLY dance!

I think you're making this up snipe. I'm 24 and I have absolutely no idea who this person is, other than the fact that she looks like she'd make **** music.

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:35 AM

Speaking of which, Shakira would be a GREAT half time performer.

Droooool.

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:37 AM

Langers you must live in a cave. Seriously.

She just won 6 grammys.

Again.

enzo1 02-08-2010 11:37 AM

she studies belly dancing obviously YouTube - Hips Don't Lie (featuring Wyclef Jean)

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:42 AM

Gogar 02-08-2010 11:49 AM

Shakira is really really hot.

And then you find out that she's Five Foot One.

And then it gets sooooo much hotter.

yes but I absolutely hate it when they turn the NA into some kind of gospel song.

m21sniper 02-08-2010 11:54 AM

Haha, i'm with you Gogar! Petite women are soooooo hot!

Flatbutt, agreed. The best ever was the Whitney Houston performance in 1991 when our troops were overseas for Desert Storm. She also threw them a welcome home concert too.

I trust you cretins have all heard of Whitney Houston?

I've never once watched the Grammy's, couldn't tell you who won one for what ever. And I've gigged professionally for years and am a music hardcore fan. Grammy's make an artist good like Oscar's make a movie good. They have nothing to do with each other and everything to do with industry insiders.
