This took FIVE SECONDS to google:

By Jeff Plungis and Kiyori Ueno

- Bloomberg.com...

Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles have been linked to 34 deaths by consumers filing complaints with the U.S. government over unexpected acceleration, according to the Transportation Department.

The total jumped by 13 fatalities since Jan. 27 as nine more filings were added to a database the department’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration uses to track deaths, injuries and consumer complaints.

http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=32+deaths+in+toyota+acelleration&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

-----

So there you go son. Letters big enough to actually catch your attention this time? Pssst, son, over here....pay attention.
Seriously, you know less than nothing, and are willfully ignorant on this subject. Wait, did i say "this" subject?

LOL.

34 Deaths.

I know you are bad at math.... so I will give you a lesson.... 34 DOES NOT EQUAL thousands... You keep saying that there have been thousands of defective vehicles.... yet you have proof for ~35.

How many people have ford and GM killed over the years?

i Said thousands of incidents. Keep it up, keep making yourself look dumb.

You're very good at it....

Toyota vehicle recall may be about more than just floor mats

"Auto safety experts and journalists at the L.A. Times agree that there seems to be a bigger problem than just the floor mats. After reviewing incident reports from thousands of cases of unintended acceleration, some believe that the real problem is the electronic throttles that have replaced mechanical acceleration systems in recent years."

Texas Auto Accident Attorneys | Toyota’s Sudden Acceleration Problems | Vujasinovic & Beckcom P.L.L.C

Let me know if you need me to do any more five second google searches for you son, since you cannot figure out how google works yourself.

As far as Ford or GM, totally irrelevant straw man argument son.

It would be best if you just admitted you were wrong now.

Economy Watch - Waxman: Documents show Toyota dismissed electronics in runaway acceleration cases, misled public about fixes

Read that if you want an education.

Toyota has been deceitful and lied and covered up at every step of the way.

My $0.42 on the subject the OP posted:

According to Toyota, their EDR system is still in "experimental mode." Yeah, right. I guess the next thing they are going to say is that their electronic gas pedals are also in "experimental mode." (That would explain why they have problems with it...) I think that is pretty bad that there are 'experimental devices' that are part of the design of the Toyotas.

I understand that this EDR system is simply a monitoring system, but with modern computer technology, how long does it take to connect a bunch of accelerometers and sensors with a computer? If all or most of the other car makers already have something like that in place, why is Toyota taking so long? Oh wait -- maybe because their system is "uber secret." (Now why on God's green earth would such a monitoring system need to so proprietary? )

Yes, there is a witch hunt going on - but I hate to say it - they are revealing some interesting issues with Toyota. And I suspect that other car makers are not that far off...

Real big of you to come back and admit you're wrong Porsche4life, but that's ok....at least you're consistent.

US Congressman Waxman:

"First, the documents appear to show that Toyota consistently dismissed the possibility that electronic failures could be responsible for incidents of sudden unintended acceleration. Second, the one report that Toyota has produced that purports to test and analyze potential electronic causes of sudden unintended acceleration was initiated just two months ago and appears to have serious flaws. Third, Toyota’s public statements about the adequacy of its recent recalls appear to be misleading."

Translation: We think Toyota should have looked at electronics, and didn't. We think Toyota's testing of its thesis is bogus. We think Toyota might be lying when it says the recall fixes are working.

Wow.

Isn't it amazing how brand loyal some people can become? They are just another big corporation trying to take your money and become the biggest auto maker in the world. Do you really think they care about you? only your money.

You're very good at it....
I've studied you for so long that I've become an expert at being a lying ass
As far as Ford or GM, totally irrelevant straw man argument son.
Very relevant... You want to drag Toyota through the mud? Lets not forget they aren't the only ones with blood on their hands

Sorry... I was out living life.... Something you never seem to do.

US Congressman Waxman:

Congressmen are all experts.....

You need to admit that you blind hatred for Toyota has you a little more than biased.

and you all that accuse me of being a fanboi? Why do you think I am a fan... The 2 toyotas I have spent lots of time in have been EXCELLENT vehicles, and EXTREMELY easy to change the oil in... Cuz thats all you have to do....

Yes... There is an issue... I never tried to deny that. I just pointed out that you had some incongruities in your story... which you still do.... "Thousands" isn't a real number. Merely some reporters guess... tell me how many significant figures are in "thousands" and for a number to be valid it needs at least one sig fig.

Oh and you were dumb enough to quote "Texas Auto Accident Attorneys" Sure a bunch of ambulance chasers are going to tell the truth....

You keep on slinging your **** allover this board, and I don't just mean about toyota. I will be putting you on the list very soon.....

There is zero chance of this being an unbiased investigation, that's my issue. Our government owns one of Toyota's biggest competitors and now you've involved the media and a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers. Every new "unintended acceleration" claim is worthy of doubt because people smell money. Regardless of the FACTS (not a Sniper copy/paste) there is now blood in the water, attracting every shark in the ocean.

For what it's worth, I used to work for a diesel shop that serviced Detroit Diesel products. Even in 2002 they had extensive data-logging capability in their ECU. Prior to any training on accessing ECUs (via their proprietary software BTW) we were trained that the only time you released ECU data was to the truck owner or via a court order. Period. The fact that other automakers freely distribute ECU data logs is rather disturbing, would you like the police to know the highest speed that your car has travelled? Even in 2002 this information was available in truck ECUs.

Runaway Prius - Why did the brakes not work?

Matt the gov't COVERED UP for toyota for 7 years. I think they have earned a little witch hunting karma.
