Actually thinking about it now the worst offender as far as work life balance I have worked for is a very large multi national. I guess it comes down the manager, but I do think that a small business owner might be the more driven, long hours type that might expect the same from their employees. I guess I have just always been more of a quality versus quantity type of person. I have seen people spend a whole day doing nothing.

Some small business owners develop a god complex from being emperor of their own little kingdom.
Gotta watch out for that. A lot of small business owners are also screamers. The HUGE upside, usually there's no PC nonsense or memos or "corporate policy" nonsense either. |

Yea, Sniper will live in California before we have an ethnic or gender sensitivity class at work.

most people think small business/company means working butts off. Well, I worked for small companies before and we partied all the time. Now, I work for a very large company, where I sit there more than 10 hours is not very rare.

I like the smaller business because of the flexibility and camaraderie with those you work with. I worked for an agency that had 500+ employees, it sucked.
My survival in the position I'm in requires me to get people to buy, and it's very easy for me to do. Not to brag, but I know the game very well, and it's fun for me. Notice I said game, it's not a job, and I will win. There aren't many places of employment where you fry up cutlets of venison back strap for lunch and drink beer on a Friday afternoon (we went to the grocery store at 11:30, popped tops at noon, had a conference call at 1:15) with your boss. We were doing some work too, but mainly setting the goals for this week. I work 5 days a week, but when hired was told it's a 4 day a week job. 8-5:30, I don't take lunch much.
