What about the bodies?

It seems that many of us on this board are prepared to lay waste any zombie intrusion into our lives. But in practical terms, what do you do with the bodies? Not all of them dissolve into vapor you know, and you can’t just call the cops or garbage service to get rid of them. And my composter, at least, is not big enough to handle more than a few - so what are you planning to do?

And besides, what about when their buddies show up the next day? More carcasses – while you’re cleaning up the debris? You must admit that eliminating several would-be looters might piss off their friends or family. So how does it not turn into a little war – you versus them - over in a couple days?

We can have fun with this, but really, what do you do on day one with half a dozen well-ventilated, but non-vaporizing bodies?

After giving this many seconds of thought, I'd say burn 'em.

what Todd said, would smell slightly less bad than burning them

Did you know that 18 molar Sulfuric Acid will burn a hole right through an aluminum alloy wheel?

You would absolutely have to burn or bury them or plague and disease would rapidly take hold.

Plus they would stink REALLY bad.

Initially though the zombies would serve to form a defensive obstacle as the follow on zombies would have to climb over the ever enlarging wall of corpses. Your expended brass would also serve to form a final defensive perimeter around you, at least from some directions- but would also make movement for you very tricky too.

If you were indoors smoke levels would quickly build, making visibility very poor and causing a burning sensation and stinging in the eyes. We'd also have tunnel vision as well.

It would be a lot more hectic and discombobulating an experience than most of us think, i am sure. Myself included.
So prepare to be extremely traumatized while all this is going on.

That's what I was thinking, but if yer shootin' from inside your home out a window or from a doorway, it depends on where they drop.

And I imagine most people would choose to stay inside rather than bother to go outside to clean up the mess. What are ya gonna do, drag 'em out to the curb so the city can pick 'em up? Heh heh.

But there's another option if you have the stomach for it.

If they're like 28 days later any contact with said "stopped' zombie forces would be high-risk contamination.

I assume once things have "calmed down", obtaining a bulldozer and large truck would be necessary. Take said remnants to a "compost" area, dissolve via chemical or burn. (Fire cleans EVERYTHING). Don't set this compost heap up near where you live.

This is the single entry point into my domicile.

This is what's called a "fatal funnel." After about 6-8 blasted zombies they wouldn't even be able to get through any more...

HK P7 covering my front door in low light

Ideally you'd want to stop them before they got inside though, which means at least one shooter on every corner of your home. Many if not most residential homes- especially bigger nicer single homes- are utterly indefensible with anything less than a half dozen shooters or more.

If you live alone and security is a concern to you, a 2nd or higher story apartment or condo is your best bet for an easily defensible position.

Gonna take a whole lot more than 6-8 Zombies to get my lilly white behind!

This is my Zombie gear

Takes a lot of heat to burn a body, gasoline and a couple boards isn't going to do it...although may keep the smell down. Burying is good, but will need heavy equipment. Just letting them rot is a possibility, except for the disease worries...but then, who says you have to stay around and smell them. Acid good, keeps smell down, but hard to come by and a bit twitchy to work with...I suggest wearing something made of latex.

After the battle of Gettysburg, they say the stench of rotting bodies didn't go away until Oct.

Perfect case, get heavy equipment, dig a big hole, fill in with zombies, cover with dirt, plant grass. Use heavy equipment, make a big pile of rocks, put up a statue. 6 months later have a picnic in the park.

Matthew 27:51-53

“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

Zechariah 14:12

“Now this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouth. On that day a large-scale panic from the LORD will spread among them. One person will grab the hand of another, and one will attack the other.”

Matthew covers the physical aspect of the dead rising, but – just like Jesus – if these saints returned as fundamentally the same beings as they were before they died, then they fall short of the mark. Remember, a Zombie is a biologically definable animated being occupying a human corpse. It is not the resurrection of the same essential person who once lived in that body.

Zachariah has the gore and violence of any great modern Zombie movie, but nowhere does he actually say that people die and then return to fight the living. A plague that rots your flesh and eats your eyeballs is a major bummer, but it does not a Zombie Pandemic make.

Therefore, I would argue that neither passage fully describes an actual Zombie.

Ugh, seriously? You do realize that we aren't really talking about "spoons"?

Go to webster.com and look up "gullible".

Did you ever see the LA riots? How about car burning and looting in NBA championship winning towns? Zombies were EVERYWHERE!
