Was in Rosarita w/my kids right before Christmas. It looked fairly okay, but that was during the day. I guess it helps to travel with a few thousand overindulgent people in this floating fortress.

I'm not the person to offer comparison reviews. My only comparison would be with the Jungle Cruise at D-land. What's up with the Holiday? The Carnival was okay. Food was decent; we didn't become ill; the staff provided good service. It was only a 3 dayer to see if we could bear the trip. Resorts, floating or otherwise, aren't my style, and I'd be hard-pressed to remain sane spending more than a few days on-board, but I guess one could adapt with enough drugs, booze and loose women. I'll try it again..... someday.

Couldn't possibly be living on drug money, i'm sure.

If you can survive a Carnival cruise, Baja is a walk in the park.

I was in Rosarito this weekend and it seemed fine. When I go down there we are staying at a house and don't really hang out on the town beyond going to restaurants. People were out on the streets both Saturday and Sunday unlike a year ago when it seemed like a ghost town. They have had more military/police presence for about a year so don't be shocked if they have a checkpoint if you decide to drive down to Ensenada. I generally don't hesitate to go down there but I would not go down there driving a flashy prerunner unless I was with a group on a score weekend. I am not saying everything is perfect down there so I would use caution.

I love Japan and the Japanese, but everything is not golden there. For the last 20 years they've been fighting economy problems.

Quote:
For three decades, Japan experienced rapid economic growth, which was referred to as the Japanese post-war economic miracle. With average growth rates of 10% in the 1960s, 5% in the 1970s, and 4% in the 1980s Japan was able to establish itself as the world's second largest economy.[5] However, in the second half of the 1980’s sliding stock and real estate prices caused the Japanese economy to overheat in what was later to be known as the Japanese asset price bubble. The ‘’bubble economy’’ came to an abrupt end as the Tokyo Stock Exchange crashed in 1989. Growth in Japan throughout the 1990s was slower than growth in other major industrial nations, and the same as in France and Germany. From 4.5% per annum in the 1980s, real GDP rose just 1.5% p.a. in the 1990s and 0.8% p.a. in the 2000s. The problems of the 1990’s may have been exacerbated by domestic policies intended to wring speculative excesses from the stock and real estate markets. Government efforts to revive economic growth throughout the 1990’s was not very successful and when the global economy slowed in 2000-2001 the Japanese economy was in a serious economic situation. The economy began to recover under the policies of Junichiro Koizumi and revived strong growth in global trade, rising an average of 2.1% a year in 2003-07. Subsequently, the global financial crisis and a collapse in domestic demand saw the economy shrink 1.2% in 2008 and 5.0% in 2009.

Evidently if she gets in the tank with a killer whale, she should worry.

Belugas and Orcas are different. Like the difference between Labradors and Rottweilers.

When you consider the extremely limited number of people exposed to Orcas in captivity, the mortality rate of those people seems to be quite high.

I don't be messin' with no 10 ton whales with teeth as big as my head.

If it makes you feel better, whatever...

IMO, people are stupid; thinking they "know" what animals are thinking, and which are docile, which are not, which are reliable in their moods, and others that are not.

How many examples does man need?

People getting torn apart by dogs, monkeys, lions, whales.

YMMV
