No, sorry yourself. We as well watched the video and this man is an idiot.

Listen to what he said, then go from there. He said that the island would tip over, so thats floating in 99.999% of our worlds.

Especially as much as he goes on about how the island is long and narrow.

Maybe he's expecting the Admiral to propose widening the island to increase it's initial stability.

You're onto something. A barge is much more stable than a canoe.

I'll bet if the Navy tows Wake Island (hope the USAF goes along with this plan) over to Guam, and lashes the two islands together, then they should be able to handle another 8,000 Gyrenes without sinking Guam.

LOL, that's great. I can't believe this guy, is he serious or not, I don't think he knows. NOW you know why this country is in such peril. Man the torpedo's, full steam ahead. Was this Congressman on that show, "I'm smarter than a 1st grader"?

I had missed that. I just Googled it.

"On a visit to the Jet Propulsion Laboratories in 2005, Jackson Lee made embarrassing news by asking if the Mars Pathfinder had taken an image of the flag planted there in 1969 by Neil Armstrong."

This is right up there in my top 10 list of the dumbest things ever said.

The man used the word "Capsize" and used his hands to show something tipping over.

Just sayin

Giving the guy every benefit of doubt...I mean c'mon...he hadda know islands don't capsize...he still comes across as a total dumbazz if for no other reason he couldn't set up his own metaphor. There were other ways for him to question the impact of a large influx of troops on a small island, if that was his point.

I see this kind of idiotic behavior in courtrooms all the time: A lawyer that is ill prepared and hasn't a clue of what he's talking about fumbling for something clever to say or witnesses trying to deflect direct questions digging themselves deeper. All self absorbed and basking in having the floor.

Who was it that said words to the effect of "'tis better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and rmove all doubt"? Applies with this clown.

Sorry, this time there is no room for doubt. This guy is that impaired.
I find it interesting that you try to refer to this blatant misunderstanding of the nature of things as "couldn't set up his own metaphor". The same language used by his handlers in a prepared statement that garnered more lame stream media attention than the actual faux pas. To mitigate his inferior mental capacity they used a word "metaphor" that he can no more understand than he can grasp the concept of retirement. Last year he couldn't spell congressman, now he are one.

You give the honorable congressman too much credit.

Sheesh.
I would say he is commenting on the (lack of)media coverage on this and the bias in the MSM.

Totally different.

Jackson Lee is clinically brain dead from the years of hairspray abuse

She's the crowning glory of the Houston area, we all love her and adore her decisions.

The admiral claimed the population of Guam is 175,000. *I'm pretty sure this number is too high. I think it's more around 150K.

Why doesn't the admiral know his **** about Guam? If I was going to congress to discuss an island, especially one as small as guam, I think I'd know my facts.

It's about 12 miles wide at it's widest and 30-32 miles long. They couldn't have printed out a goddamned wikipedia page or something beforehand?

I feel incredibly sorry for the people of Guam. They have a bunch of idiots making decisions that will severely impact their island.

If you Google "population guam" the first site shows this:

175,459 - 2008
