bivenator checking in w/ pics

So the demo has begun after the fire. These pics are taken after about a week of work. I do mean work. Most has been done using shovels and Manuel labor. I've got a porta potty in the front yard that my neighbors are enjoying.
All in all things are shaping up and we are excited about the rebuilding aspect.
The mojo put out by the pelican crew here worked wonders.

Your neighbors will be jealous when it's all finished. Good luck!

I'd keep the PP as a souvenir.

That P-car in front of the portapotty is priceless.
Best of luck with the rebuild.

I think you should consider a dome with a planetarium projector.

There is nothing to not love about that car.

Great to hear you and your family are on the mend.

I have done consulting work on designing home observatories...

However, (1) I don't do portapotties, and (2) I charge obscene amounts of money. Other than that, I'm your man!

Best of luck, ahead. Now you have the perfect excuse to build the mother of all garages.

My cousin had a fairly similar experience happen to him 2 nights ago in the middle of the night. Poof, up went the garage and half the house. Everyone and the cat made it out safely. He had the presence of mind to snap a pic and post it on Facebook for everyone to see.

Planetariums, home observatories? Are you guys contractors? I heard some dubious statements from some of the dudes that were out here bidding on the job.

Glad to hear you've gotten started. That looks much worse than the pics I saw right after it happened!

Here is the progress as of Tuesday. We are adding alot of space in an upstairs loft and creating a larger bathroom and closet in the master bath. Darn expensive those bathroom remodels.

Bell, it has not been easy. 6 yo daughter was having a hard time at school due to the unwanted attention given to the "firegirl". Fortunately after about 2 weeks the other kids found something else to focus thier attention on. She still is hesitant to go to the house. I haven't seen other signs of serious stress but I'm sure that she does feel some anxiety about the fire.
The wife and I were in marriage counseling before the fire. The fire brought us closer in the immediate aftermath, but the stress of having to make major decisions has created a lot of tension. Some days are better than others. Today was a good one.

Looks like there's some silver lining with the increased living area!

There is also some silver lining in that they can now correct all the little things that they were not happy with before and do it their way now!
