Gold standard for water proofing basement?

More specifically the connection between the concrete slab and the walls (concrete blocks). I know it would be best to have poured concrete walls but that doesn't fit us at this stage. The basement walls can be covered with water repellent products or with an EPDM sheet, still to be decided but it's the transition that I'm a bit worried about.
A draining tube is foreseen around the basement and the slab has just been poured.

Backhoe and 20 tons of crushed rock did it for me. Gold standard means water doesn't come in.

+1. If this is new construction, install a proper perimeter drain around the foundation, and use a rubberized coating on the outside, typically sprayed on. For added security you could also use a membrane like this: SUPERSEAL Dimpled Membrane - the best basement waterproofing method

Edit: Re-read your original post. Are you saying that the walls are going to be built on the basement floor? That is not how it is done around here. We pour a footing, build the walls, then pour the slab after the walls are up. If they are building the walls on top of the floor, how are they tied together? Rebar?

Don't have a picture at hand but we typically use rebars every foot where the walls will come. These rebars are tied to the steel nets and stick out of the concrete once the slab has been poured. The slab is 10 inches thick with double nets of 10 milimeters thickness.

Xypex also makes a good waterproofing for CMU
also look for "Sonneborn HLM 5000", it is a trowel applied waterproofing membrane that works well

water will still weep thru concrete, you need to waterproof the wall and especially the joint to the existing brick wall - +1 what Milt said

You either give the water some where else/preferable to go, or you build a ship hull for a basement. ...and let the house rise with the tide, so to speak.
