8. Watch the space shuttle launch and return. Guess I might have to watch a

9. Get way too close to tornado
10. Shoot a cannon. Not a gun, a freakin' CANNON!!!!

I see 4 out of 10 within easy reach.

Well, depends on how good you want to be on the guitar.

Oh Milt PLEASE tell me that shooting the cannon made one of the four? Because I would REALLY like to shoot a cannon!

Mine is pretty easy:
1) watch my two kids grow up, graduate and become well-adjusted and successful in business.
2) provide for the family so when I'm gone they don't have to worry about money.
3) Visit Jerusalem to see the holiest place on earth.

OK here's my "serious" top 10, in no particular order (but I still wouldn't turn down that whole "two chicks at the same time" thing...)

1. Ride my bike up the Alp d'Huez - without stopping.
2. Finish my 911 to perfection and then drive it on an epic road trip over a couple of months to Glacier, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Disneyland, New Orleans, Key West and then back home.
3. Stand on Mount Everest - even if it's base camp, I want to go there. Climb a bit if I can.
4. Fly an airplane supersonic (me at the controls of course)
5. Attend an F1 race... in Monaco
6. Sail a boat across the Pacific - stopping in Hawaii for a while and eventually making it to Australia.
7. Give something really special to a desperately needy person - like a car or a place to live or a job or a few thousand dollars - something that will make a real difference to them.
8. Design my own home - and then build it and live in it.
9. Hike the entire John Muir trail (I've only done portions)
10. Write (and publish) a book.

Absolutely! Look for a cannon club and go shoot the thing.

I'm sure they'd be more than delighted to have you participate.

Take my youngest daughter to Disney World. She has not been there. Being out of work for a year put big delay in going.... Eventually will get there...

The other thing on the list was to buy a 911. Love the one I have.

Cool!

That experience would be amazing! Thanks Rich.

In about 5 months, it'll be time to "do" some of these things. I'll check it out!

I notice many people said their bucket list was complete, curious what was on them? I like some of the list items mentioned, it inspired me to add a few. One thing I like about this site is many of the posts have really pushed me to see what else I could do. Thanks for that.

I started my bucket list before I knew the term "bucket list" sometime in high school. since then I have crossed some things off my list and added things as new goals have come to mind. With any luck I'll cross them all off the list but honestly, I suspect if I have done this right some won't get crossed off as I will know I pushed the limit. This weekend i crossed one off the list (run half-marathon). This is my list cutting out the more boring ones like places I want to visit:

Own an Antique Car -DONE X 5
Find a beautiful, intelligent wife (who is great in bed and loves me) -DONE (parenthetical added after divorce from first wife)
Have children -DONE
Get my pilots license -DONE
Go Skydiving -DONE X 3
Rebuild a car engine
Get my PhD -DONE
Get published (journals, conferences, presentations, etc.) -DONE X Few
Rebuild an antique car -DONE
Run a half-marathon -DONE
Run a marathon
Do a triathlon
Fly a helicopter -DONE
Land a sea plane
Own my own plane
Write and publish a book
Build a car from scratch (kitcar or other)
Be a stand up comedian once in front of an audience
Pilot a plane to every state in continental US
Build or own an amphibious vehicle
Race in an auto race
Hunt and kill my own food once (deer or duck)
Create a kick-a** garage / man cave
Take wife on weekend getaway where we go to an airport and decide where to fly at the counter
Restore a car with my son
Make a comfortable living in business, retire and become a college professor (again)
Do everything I can to help my kids become more successful than me

If the stars align (the really hard ones):
Get into outer space
Own a Tucker
Make a major positive impact on the world (make world better place)

When I was younger, I wanted to own a Porsche and hoped to some day drive it on a racetrack. I also wanted to build a business and sell it for a significant sum. Pretty much had done them both by age 40.

I travelled enough with my jobs out of college that travel sort of lost its charm. I'd still like to see Australia and spend more time in the UK, but I wouldn't call them bucket list items.

So either I have a serious lack of ambition or I'm just content with where I've been, what I have, what I've done, etc.

In no particular order

1 See an F1 race (did it last fall and will do it again)
a Ride in an F1 car (did that last fall too, twice, first time driven by Didier Theys, second time driven by Martin Plowman)

2 Skydive (did that last fall right before #1)

3 Start running again and get back down to a 6 minute mile. (this may or may not ever happen

4 Drive a car, any car on Laguna Seca and the Nurburgring

5 Space Shuttle Launch (got to see STS-132 May 2010)

6 Eat at Michelin rated restaurants

7 See giant redwood trees

8 See Stonehenge

9 Own a Lotus/Caterham 7

10 Go to NYC and do the sight seeing thing

11 Go back to Japan (lived there as a kid, but would like to go back to visit)

12 Go to Italy, Germany, UK and France, at least, possibly Spain again and some other spots

13 Learn to speak Spanish and Japanese, at least conversationally

14 Go back to Wash DC and tour the place, I was young the first time I went. (I guess really, "see a lot more of the US" should be on the list to include, NYC, Boston, Cali, Wash DC, etc....)

15 I've been to Asia, Europe, Africa, N. American, and S America, I need to hit Australia and Antarctica so I can say that I've been on all of the continents. I would accept seeing Antarctica from a boat or somehow just getting close.

It's nice to have a bucket list. Maybe my bucket list is less ambitious than you guys, or maybe I nailed (pun intended) more in my early/earlier days, or I see things differently. Little things like I'd hate to drive around Europe in a GT3; everyone would be trying to rob you. Plus the traffic is a bastard. Travel - just do it. My only one is a two day river trip down some fairly fierce water in a Canadian canoe, if I survive it I'll post pic's.
