requiem for a dream was brutal.
jennifer connoly takes it in the pooper (i think) from another stripper for a bag of heroin. |
I'm going to 3rd, 4th, or is it 5th for Requiem for a Dream.
Anyone who has had any sort of drug issues will get an eye opener. My mother watched it, and she had problems with drugs and alchohol. it disturbed her deeply, and she talked about it for a few YEARS afterwrds. being her son, it disturbed me as well. Deeply. At the time it came out, I was working at Blockbuster Video. I reccomended it to everyone who asked what the good movies were. Everyone came back disturbed, visibly shaken, some still in tears. Many said "thank you" |
Top 5 - no particular order. Rivers Edge, My Own Private Idaho, Platoon, Private Ryan, Easy Rider.

I must have been feeling sombre last night because I watched Leaving Las Vegas, it was deeply powerful when I first saw it back in 1995 and has not lost it's deep sharp edge and message. A movie that is disturbing and Nicolas Cage plays an incredible role (Elisabeth Shue is a perfect compliment and does a fine job as well..beautiful as well).
Amazing that the list of feel BAD movies is > than feel GOOD movies. I will have to rent Requiem for a Dream...curious now and I saw the trailer on YouTube last night and remember it when it debuted, but never actually saw it. Yasin |
The king of all feel bad movies:
Deliverance |
The Mist.
Just for the ending. The movie itself it just a run of the mill horror/sci fi.... but the ending it the most bummer ending of movie history. |
