There must to be a better option than Quicken
I love Turbotax, but I picked up Quicken and must say it's terrible. Way too many gizmos and crap. I just want a good no frills budget/online checkbook/online billpay program.... Any advice? It's possible I just haven't given Quicken enough time, but I doubt it.

i use quick books pro & have no problems with it. Makes it easy at tax time too

Hmm. I've been using Quicken for quite a few years. Currently I'm still on the 2008 version but I have found it to be one of the best-designed and most efficient programs I have used, in terms of minimal time to get stuff done and lots of input shortcuts and timesavers. I use Turbotax as well.
We write very few checks and use the Quicken billpay service, and have all bank and card activity electronically synch so the routine bills literally only take about 10 minutes every week or two.

My bank has online/billpay svcs and they are fantastic. Can do all kinds of searches and such.

I have been using Quicken for my checkbook since 1989. Just becaue I can, I still have all that data going back 21 years. I can balance my checking account in seconds.
I use Quickbooks Pro at work.

Those are thing I really don't want to think about. I ran a report on how much I spent on Pizza and was stunned. 20 years of Pizza is a lot. I REALLY don't want to total up Porsche parts purchases.

I'm a CPA and use both programs (Quicken and QuickBooks). The previous posters are correct in saying that Quicken isn't really adequate for tracking a business (unless it's a sole proprietorship). QuickBooks is far superior for tracking businesses. I've been using Quicken for my personal finances for 10 years, and find it useful. I don't do the automatic downloads for my retirement accounts, nor do I use it to pay bills. However, for tracking personal expenses and managing a stock/mutual fund portfolio, it's probably as good as anything out there.
