You work for Aramco?
Yea, I'm with Aramco. You know they have these strange flavors of tortilla chips - ketchup, chili and onion, garlic and herb - but plain old corn tortilla chips for some reason are freaking outrageous!

You don't want to use bottled ranch dressing lol, you need the powdered ranch seasoning packets that you use to make up the Ranch salad dressing at home... these are usually found either in the salad dressing area of the store or where the chili and other seasoning packets are sold...

Thanks Bill, I'll make a run into town for the powdered mix tomorrow. That would work fine.

I hope to be over there soon. Just a quick visit though. My boss has been there in Damam for two weeks now and says it's "interesting"

Lol.

Do they have cottage cheese? Cottage cheese mixed with French Onion soup mix makes a nice dip for chips or veggies.

They do have cottage cheese. Lots of it. It's very tasty. The main problem is, I've not been able to find any french onion soup mix as yet.

It is interesting. In Dammam, they have the worst drivers in civilization. They pass on the shoulders, make left turns from the right lane, don't know how to merge... Ask your boss about the driving here. It's insane!

And if you get into an accident, you have to leave the cars right where they are! You can't move the vehicles until the police show up to apportion the blame for the accident. You can't get your car fixed without a police report that says who is responsible for how much of the accident. So if you block all the lanes with your accident, then the traffic will be blocked for as long as it takes. And they get into a LOT of accidents.

In the 1980's, we had guys who were taking taxis from one place to another. The taxi hits someone or something and then the driver runs for it. The passenger (foreigner) is arrested and charged with the crime, because it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't been there. One was stuck in prison for 6 months.

Sounds like a cheap version of something that we got from the local Whole Foods, fig preserves on brie cheese on crackers.

Craig,

Here is an easy one that it pretty tasty, and you already have 2 of the 3 ingredients.

1 can of bean dip - (hope you can get this)
1 small sour cream (8 oz)
salsa

Mix the whole can of bean dip with 1/2 to 3/4 of the sour cream, and add the salsa to taste (I usuallly use medium salsa, about 6-7 good spoonfulls at least)

Just keep mixing it up until a good consistency is reached. Add more sour cream if necessary, and more salsa for more zing...

Simple, quick and tastes great.

From one craig to another

Craig

We were in Bath, England in the late 80's where we saw Chips and Hot Salsa on a menu. They brought us bland chips and steaming hot salsa - not spicy, just salsa heated on the stove! Something was just lost in translation.

What do they smell like? Anytime I have to sit next to someone from the Middle-east it seems as though they have not bathed in weeks, maybe months. Men, women, children - no matter.

I am curious, can you get close enough to catch a whiff? I have dreamed that they smell like Jasmine and wear nothing under those robes except for rubies in their belly buttons!
