Maseratis?
Anyone else notice that you can pick up a Maserati coupe or cab for just a bit over $20k? These are nice condition cars with decent miles, not salvage title heaps. I'm sure they are expensive to maintain, but the price seems very cheap for what is essentially a Ferrari 360 lite. Am I missing something here?

I know a guy who has only owned and driven Maseratis for the last 30 years.
His words... "They are great looking cars and all that but not well built" But he absolutely loves the way they drive and sound. Think Alfa Romero from the 70s or 80s. ![]() If you can maintain them yourself then go for it. Otherwise they are just too expensive for an average Joe.

Matt - You are killing me bro! Always on the prowl for a fallen hero! Laughing. Cool cars for sure, lovely engine, beautiful exhaust note, not overly powerful (E55s eat them for lunch)..but hey it certainly makes you feel like you made it...I am a $30K millionaire!

check the mileage, the maintenance fee is brutal. A friend owns one and calculates the cost to maintain at $1 per mile.

check out Kreissieg exhaust on youtube. im at work, and can't access it...but it makes the coupes and cabs sound like F1 cars.

I've been noticing the same thing and may jump on one around the new year.
I'll second the kreissieg exhaust. I was chatting with a guy whom had one on his 03 cambio and it sounded ferocious. My mechanic just gets giddy when I bring up buying crap like this or early 90's Bentley/Rolls... |

This thread is truly worthless without pics.
Post em up. I like Maserati but I've never been around them so I don't know much about them. I do know where an old neglected one is but I suspect the cost of saving it would exceed its value. |

Think of a Ferrari with 30-40k miles. Same service costs, clutch life for the F1 is 10k miles max. Cost is $5k. Electrical issues galore. I mean the check engine light comes on until the car warms up!
I would say most owners spend $10k a year on maintaining these cars. Save your penny and buy a nice 996 or early 997 and be happy. ![]() Or go buy the much better looking Gran Turismo and get a good warranty! |

Sexy looking machines for sure...but as far as I know, only one Maserati dealer in Oregon...Ron Tonkin up in Portland. In Portland traffic, such a car wouldn't be a bit quicker than a Honda Civic or a Toyota Prius.
It sure would make more noise, though!

Interesting. I've been seeing quite a few around here, recently. Maybe the price is down and the "poor folks" can afford them now.
Still looking for a 930 with A/C that works...really works...
