Attempted suicide by bridge pillar?

Why not suicide by cop?

Too bad he wasn't successful. He could have just as easily gone into the oncoming lane and killed a few good folks.

I'm much more aware of oncoming traffic after seeing a couple of threads posted here of wrecks where the traffic has successfully crossed the median and hit (or just missed) oncoming traffic.

I heard on the new the driver had been released from jail just 15 minutes before the crash.

That won't buff out.

It is amazing that no one else was hurt.

Wow. I heard about it on this bulletin board while sitting in a hotel in Minneapolis, saw the video through a link to a Seattle TV station - and it happened about 5 miles from my home. Weird.

Yet another reason to not cruise in the passing lane. (for the cop and those on the other side of the highway)

Idiot. I hope he does some significant hard time in pound-me-in-the-azz prison for endangering other people like that.

Douchebag.

Without even researching it, why do I envision a pimple-faced kid with baggy pants, a sideways baseball hat and a 7th grade education?

[QUOTE=porsche4life;5524751]Attempted suicide by bridge pillar?

Does this make him an underachiever? That is my normal summer route to work in Beavercreek but the kids started school that day so I took a different route in order to drop them off. Sad but I think it was intentional too, and another teen just did the same thing in a Lexus GS400 on the north side of Cincy about 2 weeks ago (he was going 133 but didn't get the same kind of hang time). Very lucky that nobody else was hurt.

Looks like a suicide attempt glad nobody else was hurt, if he crossed into oncoming traffic that would have been ugly.

At the risk that I will get hated by the Pelican community, I would say the following - the complete thing is sad. Yes, if it was an attempt at taking his own life then I am glad he did not hurt anyone else. If it was an accident, then I do feel sorry for him - who ever he was and whatever his background.

At the end of the day he has a mother and father - I am sure they are sad to have lost their son, whatever his life story is. I have three kids, and I hope they grow up to be good, but I would still be sad if that was my kid...

You can all go back to hating him now, and sorry if this makes me a looser as well...

Watch it again. Brake lights go on just after the car is airborn.

The guy was a properly executed monkey roll away from walking away unscathed.
