![]() That Jaguar looks really nice. The driver's seat could use some attention, but for $4k, that's not bad. |

I owned an XJS years ago (V12) and lost a fair amount of money when I sold it. My Motto?
Better to have owned a Jaguar and lost money than to have never owned a Jaguar at all. |

Welp...I put the car back on craigslist yesterday. 10 minutes later, I got an email....the interested party only lived 2 blocks from me. I took it over to his place after work..he had a 964, several VW's, and an MGA twincam sitting in his garage. He looked at the car for a whole 2 minutes and offered full asking price.
"Man...this car is REALLY clean." I dropped the car off today and walked the two blocks home, license plate in hand. Ahhhhhh, what a relief....now I'll be taking the E30 out west!

I owned a '94 XJ6 and it was worry free and a beautiful ride. Also bought a 85 XJS and sold it 2 years later for more, go figure.

yeah...it was really beautiful. Black with the painted wheels. He said it's only one of two in Indiana. It was REALLY sharp. I told him I'd take my TR4 over and exchange rides in each others' cars. I'll snag some pictures

I think that is still Enzo and Mclaren F1 territory.
No mortals on this BBS could touch that.

So I took the TR4 out today...as I was tooling around, I decided to run over a couple of extra parts that I found for the Jag. I went over to the guys house....he showed me a couple more of his cars. He drove his MGA Twincam to work, so that was outside.
In his garage, he had a couple more MGA's, a 550 replica (with all 912 components), a bugeye sprite, and an Ariel Atom. I guess he has around 50 cars. Anyway, as I was driving out, my electric fuel pump heat soaked and stopped....so the TR4 died in his driveway. He and I monkeyed around with it and got it going again...I had no idea who this guy was until I went home and googled him. CEO/founder for a pretty big company, Harvard MBA, etc. REALLY down to earth. nice guy. a couple of his cars: ![]()
