If you still have it in a few months, I'll give $4k. The inline six, even SC'd, is one of the most bulletproof engines out there. I've got to get through the Xmas season before I buy anymore toys though.

How about some pictures of the interior?

There is some wear on the driver seat (split seam, and wear on the bolster). The rest of the interior is in great shape (I've cleaned it SINCE I took these pictures...)

Hey now, he's bidding against me! ha ha.

Anyway, I hadn't been checking CL for awhile since keeping my 911 is better than giving it away. Jags by the score. There's one nice one that i have been watching for 2 months! '86 for $ 2950, silver/gray, no miles listed and a tunnel ram Corvette installed. Shoot, for that price I could just about throw the car away and keep the motor.

Would make a GREAT commuter. A thread like this needs to come along in a couple of months when I'm looking! Or if it doesn't sell send me a message around 11/1...

No offense but would YOU touch a 175k mile finicky British car?

I sure as hell wouldn't. Not even an Aston Martin or a Bentley.

It does look nice, but if I buy a car I want a car, not a driveway sculpture.

Mike,

Nice looking car! Can't afford to feed her, but she is good looking!

Drive it about an hour south of you. You can store it in one of my barns. Of course, I'll need a key just in case we need to move it for hay storage or something like that ;-)

Guys,

How do you disable the odometer on a '97 Jag? I might need this information, you just never know....

People are just scared of the reputation.

VWVortex.com - Suppose I wanted a Jag to haul the family in. Would this car be a decent one?

Great cars... a friend had a '97 XJR in silver that ran like a top. One of the nicest cruisers I've driven, and I've heard they're more reliable than the V8s that followed.

It's not hard, all of that stuff is lucas so you just have to wait for it to fail catastrophically

god help you should you ever need oddball stuff that you'd think would be cheap like a windshield washer fluid reservoir though. $160 from jag for a friggin plastic bottle...

Brake job is more like $100 in my driveway with oem pads...

That IS rather ironic. I'd rather have Jag than a VW personally. The VWs have a horrendous reputation right now.

I doubt I'd ever touch a 175k mile car of ANY marquee though - at least not for more than a grand or so... or as a 24-hours-of-Lemons entry.

Lucas, Check! More easily handled! I'm sure there is an easy electrical disconnect.

Mike,

Guess my barn space is looking up???

So, you're saying you wouldn't touch my 240K Carrera for TWO grand?
