It needs a TOB so I would do that before the sale.
The brakes are awful so I bought some Porterfeild R4-S carbons for it that will also be installed.
I would consider all 356, 912, 911 trades.

BTW: sorry for hi-jacking the thread.
That's a nice car.

Yeah the tats, DISEASES, and fake boobs aren't too attractive. Plus the doctor that butchered her nose and lips should be retrained in plastic surgery.

Thank you. Most Lotus guys call the +2 "The Ugly One" but I guess it's a matter of taste. I always liked the longer wheelbase and stout chassis.

Shall I box it up and send it to you?

I would love it but I have so many projects on the go right now I couldn't take it on.

Who/what did they copy the NSX from (1991)? P.S. - This one is for sale, too...

The NSX is a toned down Ferrari.

Eh...perhaps, but the engineering isn't close to Ferrari. When I lift the hood or look at the underbody, I still scratch my head in amazement that they made this thing in the early 90's...

Calling it a toned down Ferrari isn't an insult. The body shape was defiantly Italian inspired but you could also say that for the MClaren F1.
To Honda's credit they did a fantastic job with the NSX.It was a super car you could use like a Honda Accord.

It's a shame they don't make them anymore.

Didn't take it as an insult...just don't see the comparison, especially from a construction/engineering view. Some of the lines are "Ferrari-like", but that's about all I see.

Henry, what makes you hate it?

Does it feel too light and flimsy? Rattle like an old Spitfire?

How about Japanese motorcycle copies - Honda has made a career of it...

The "V" copy of the Moto Guzzi
The Flat copy of the BMW
The other "V" copy of the Harley

I'm a pretty big guy so the car really just doesn't fit.
It's under powered, has miserable brakes and tiny pedal assembly.
Rattly and flimsy really aren't my main objection. The +2 have a full sized chassis and a hard top that seems to make the car much more rigid.
I will say that she will turn in and take a set with the best the cars from that era.

Lotus Elan weighs 1,500 lbs. (!)
began with 105 hp out of a 1558 cc Lotus twin-cam engine, by 1967 it had 115 hp, in 1971 up to 126 hp

1967 figures would give it an oompah ratio of 13 to 1; 12:1 for the 1971 Sprint (assuming it didn't pork out by then)

what were the torque figures and what rpm did you have to spin that little sucka at to get the hp?

1,500 is a key number for me...

I think that Honda pioneered [NSX] all aluminum construction prior to Ferrari - so maybe Enzo & co. copied the NSX??

Is the Elise not a great example of the British perfecting the sportscar?
