We have mountain goats and mountain sheep in N. America (though I've not seen this particular animal). In fact, we have mountain goats and bighorn sheep both in Oregon.

Mountain goats have shaggy white coats and sharp black horns like this one on the left, while bighorn sheep have brown coats and brown horns like the female on the right. You’re more likely to see sheep in Banff National Park since most of our goats live at very high elevations on the cliffs and mountain tops.

That animal is a Chamois / Gemse. It is a goat-antelope type animal in Europe. It can climb the craziest terrain. A real trophy to hunt (often involves serious mountain climbing - no four wheeling or shooting off the hood!). They are specialized on herbs and picky eaters. I am sure that wall grows something they really like. Also, hanging out on the wall is safe (who's going to go after them?)

I'm not seeing the facial markings for Chamois - maybe they are Cham-wow?

We don't know that they are native either - could be some exotic.

BTW - all these things are just Bovids...

I feel obliged to point out that we are trying to decide if these are American Bovids or European Bovids -- and one may be better than the other...

Their colors change summer to winter. Not kidding. Also, there is a bunch of sub-species, they look a little different everywhere. Important to note however is that they all taste the same.

Of course we all know why Montana sheep ranchers and goat herders wear hip boots.

I don't think a guy could climb that dam in a pair of hip boots.

Unless, of course, they are European hip boots...
