A new Spoon on the way (10 day wait time in California)

I Have a new shotgun on the way. I've been waiting on this since early summer.

Remmington had a special run to get rid of some leftover old school items that have gone out of style with most people.

It's based on a police grade receiver, with the alloy trigger gaurd, stiffer springs, & cop issue inner parts.

The pics are not mine, I will have mine on October 11th.

"Cop issue inner parts"??? Is this out of The Blues Brothers or something? Hate to burst your bubble, but I don't believe there is such a thing. It's a standard 870 with a shorter barrel and a front sight. Where is the rear sight?

They fire slugs reasonaly accurately, so with good sights and slugs (to accompany your buckshot) it extends the guns reach past 25 yards to 70 or more. Even more fun

Nice gun.

They are comparing the Police model to the 870 Express. The 870 Express is a substantially down-graded 870, with cheesy cast parts in the action and plastic everywhere. Compared to the old, original, un-compromised 870, it's a cheap POS. "Built to a price point" indeed. All Remington has done is to return the 870 to close to its original quality of manufacture (but not quite all the way - the original used no cast parts in the action - everything was machined) for the police market, who apparently don't like the cheapened version foisted upon sportsmen.

Yes, the "express ment that it was a EXPRESS to manufacture, so CHEAPER!"

Sad thing is is that the plastic trigger housing is claimed to be stronger.

My old 870 express had aboult 1k worth of shot down it. nothing failed
