Since no one said it my guess is a broke crank.
Crap shoot... valve seat, piston, rod, crank...could be any one.

got the cylinders off and pistons out flywheel off: No loose rods, bolts or broken pistons, no broke crank, no broke camshaft or cracked lifters. Everything is free except it still hits a stop. Next is to split the case......This is getting very interesting! must be something up front around the cam gear? but it looks ok down the fuel pump hole and dizzy hole!

Almost a full revolution? Broke crank or your main bearing thrust is totally beat out. It's (the throw) hitting a main bearing web.
Push the pulley all the way in and see if it rotates, pushing the whole time. Or the camshaft is broke right at the gear.

Well the rear main bearing seized up and spun on the locating pin that's why it ran when I drove it home when hot but locked up when it cooled down. It could have been too that I had the crank endplay on the tight side, I set it at .004 but as you can see the shims are in bad shape too. The case is fine, the bearing did not spin in the case so that's good. Just going to have the mains turned down 1st under and go from there. Oh and pull the heads apart to check them out too.

I'm betting there's more damage.
Put the pin in the case, it should have no slop. Compare to the others, if sloppy it must be repaired and line bored. Check the case webs, thrust and bores. Mag case so same issues as a 911 case. Play is .003 to .005, (.006 is the wear limit). I set all the engines I've built at .003 without a single failure. Rods off the crank hit it with a hammer and see if it rings. I'd still have it magnafluxed.

Everything was fine except the rear main on the crank so I ground it down .010 and ordered a set of 10 under main bearings. I did also check the heads over and everything was fine but did surface the sealing surfaces because I did have problems with that before and did not surface them last time. Parts are ordered and will be back in the car in about a week.

1000 miles and not a drop of oil, not bad for an old mag case but then I used plenty of 3bond sealer
