Any one using Clearwire?
This service was recently rolled out in Pittsburgh. Any one using it on this list? I currently have Comcast at home at $45 per month and dsl at work. This service is $35 per month but I don't want to switch if it doesn't work as advertised.
Thanks, Bernie P |

It's pretty much only worthwhile if you need to move it now and then for temporary installations, or where you can't get something hardlined that is better.
It's enough worse than cable that saving $10 is definately not worthwhile. If you wanted to move it back and forth and kill both the other lines, then it *may* be worth it. It is a month-to-month sorta deal in most areas, so you could try it for the cost of the modem and a month of service.

Sniper investigated this awhile ago. I think it is WiMax.

yea it's WiMax. coverage is going be dependent on the Sprint network.
i think for most people , it doesn't make sense. cause when you're at home...you have your landline cable option. when you're at work...you have your work landline. the only place u need a mobile station is if you work on the go. traveling sales, consulting, onsite jobs. my real estate agent carries his clearwire in the car so he can always have net access. |

If I recall, sniper also hit the monthly download limit in the first week, due to his abundant consumption of, you know.
