Yep...and for a mere $100K or so, not including the car, you too could have one...
You might try clicking on the link before being so nasty...just might see something more enjoyable than other stuff posted here.

If you don't want to click on the link...why post at all?

Sensitive are we? My comment was hardly nasty, sarcastic yes but not nasty.

I am as likely to be interested in a 1000 HP Mustang as I am a 1000 HP Corvette. I know it can be done but I can't care less. The Mustang is a neat car. There are lots of neat cars that just don't really interest me all that much. The new Bugatti is really neat, but I really don't care much about it. I am a car guy but there are just too many other cars I care more about.

Why Tabby...you NEED 1,000 horsepower to get to Wal-Mart quickly! Same reason you NEED a GT3 Porsche, right?

Gotta admit, since over 100 on ANY Oregon road can result in a go to jail card, loss of license, and a $2,000 fine, such a car is a bit of overkill. But hey, this is America...why should Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, etc. have the exclusive license on ostentatiousness? You watch the video?

Like I said...if you're not interested, why do you post? Back to the PCA website for you...they only speak Porsches there, right? This is Pelican Off Topic.

1000 hp is the new 500 hp.

Cool, but I've seen it done elsewhere by hot rod tuners and import tuners alike. It's a very attainable number now.

Of course, getting this "attainable number" along with 100,000-mile reliability is another matter entirely.

As I like to say, "Fast/reliable/cost-effective, pick any two".

As a practical matter, anytime you get over about 400-ish RWHP the limiting issue becomes the tires. You just can't hook up that much power without R-compounds and all kinds of other stuff.

1000 hp in a Rustang would be scary even in a straight line. Aero? Handling? Suspension? *shudder*

I am not interested in a rubber doll but I posted there. Now I will admit I would rather be seen with a Mustang than one of those dolls!

Good thing I'm not bored with Ferraris, Porsches, or Corvettes. That thing sure is an ugly POS.

You'd think for $100k you could get a decent interior. It doesn't look like some place I'd want to be for a 600 mile rally. And either those seats would have to go, or I'd have to gain 150 pounds... I'd be sliding all around in them.

And I'm sure the suspension is an afterthought as well... just like the first GT500s.

... and finaly, I know quite a few Ford engineers. I wouldn't recommend a mustang my friends or family.

Yes I am a child of the 70's...

And I want one of these really bad:

Dodge - 2010 - Challenger - Muscle Car, Performance Car, Sedan

Only 450 HP but I will get by at about half the price.

Just a Black Mustang...what's so ugly about that? I prefer it's stealth look to other Shelby cars (and the GT3RS) sporting more bling than a rap star.

Sorry Paul, I do appreciate the knowledge and skill to make a 1000 HP car and I can see why it has a following.
But I can't get over the looks.
IMO, it's a mullet car, a 1000 HP mullet car.

And IMO, if it was as good as a GT3RS or even in the same league, they would be racing together, like corvettes do...
I've never seen them racing in the same race, not over here at least, dunno 'bout the States.

That money buys a lot of car...heck, a lot more than one car...I think that's going to be a really tough sell for anyone who can't afford a $100K impulse buy.

Hopefully those buying it will have the skill to handle it. Like the Porsche GT...I expect to hear of wrecks. Absolutely scary power...not my cup of tea, but a very interesting design exercise.

This may shock some here, but there are people who find European cars as non interesting as you find Mustangs.

Geronimo? Of course you haven't seen them on the track there...this is a prototype street car...not really a race car. Only one in existence right now. Far as I know it doesn't fit into the racing rules for any class. It's a different toy for the uber rich.

Ugly? Nothing at all! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Mustang has been a very successful economy coupe since it's inception, a nice looking, low cost platform to gussy up with suspension and brake upgrades, some non-functional air scoops and assorted body bling and a big muthah motah.

The results are all unique and charming, depending on one's personal taste (or lack thereof).

The opposite end of the "bling" spectrum for you. Want me to post "blinged up" P-cars? I'm sure I could find a few...perhaps even on that rice-o-rama site.

Actually I prefer to call Riced out Porsches "Carol Doda" cars. There was one in our PCA region before I quit...Dolled up to look like a 935 slantnose...Painted with 70's stripes patterning..Ohhh it looked soo fast. Under it's engine lid? An anemic stock 1974 CIS injected 2.7...

I don't care what car you name...there are people out there more than willing to turn it ugly...
