I read the episode guides for the first two shows. It appears it will suck more than I thought. They are just re-doing the same things the UK version did- car chased by helicopter, car chasing skiers, Lamborghinis, and they are promoting the hosts too much. "Rutlidge and Adam try to beat Tanner at a drifting challenge by cheating" or something like that. At least the UK versions appeared to be spontaneous...
![]() At least Tanner Foust has some sort of rally/ice racing/time attack driving experience. The only reason I am watching the premier is to see Buzz Aldrin drive whatever the "reasonably priced car" is.

The producers of the USA show have done one in Australia and Russia. I wonder what those are like?
Mates? any comments? |

I have no doubt it won't be as good as the real one, but it will easily be the best car show in America. What's the competition, Autoweek?

I will definitely watch it. As Matt said what other car shows do we really have? I mean HD Theatre ( Wheeler Dealers, Chaing Classic Cars) is pretty good but I am always open to something new. I don't expect it match the original but I hope it will be entertaining.

I think the US version would have turned out much better if the producers had hired me instead of Adam Carolla........

I am biased as I am a Brit, but I guarantee it will be as bad as the US version of the Office...which really was garbage.
Jeremy, James and Richard.......legends that cannot be imitated.....

why do we need another car show? we have Top Gear. ...the correct british version. part of the appeal of the real Top Gear is the cinematic quality of the filming, the music, the ambient noises, etc.
Can the American version live up to these details?

But we really can't lose. If this one sucks, we always get the real one back early next year.

Thanks for the heads up. I have set the DVR, and will reserve judgment until I have seen it.
My wife says that it can not be as funny as the Brit version.

while i am glad to see programming not centered on fat hosebag pawn shop owners, there is little hope for this show. the producers left one huge unanswered question, why should i watch this when the original is two remote clicks away?

Watch both. The Brit version does like 7 episodes at a time. There is plenty of room for a poor imitation

wonder if I will be able to watch this one on the web too... I really don't think it will be worth paying for cable to watch it....
