Pretty cool. But I hate when anyone uses a pressure washer on paint.

That is most definitely not a pressure washer.

It looks like one. It has a trigger handle and a wand. What else do you call it? They can be softened in the pressure they put out.

Why do these guys insist on working on the floor? Wouldn't a lift be nice?

Then I guess they use low pressure. I know for sure that NWAS knows how to maintain paint jobs.

We had a washer just like that in my body shop. We used it on Ferrari's, Porsches, etc. It was similar to a pressure washer, but never had the capability of blasting the paint off of a car.

pretty much like it did when you put it on

It's becoming popular with racers because all the logos, graphix, and images can be done in a wrap. And with motorcycles the vinyl seem to help hold the bodywork together in a crash.
this was done by a bud of mine for a female rider

I don't get taking a beautiful paint job like that and going flat black.

I will redo my SC in flat black vinyl next spring. Better spend $500 on vinyl than $5,000 on a paint job. And if I don't like the result, I can always undo it and try another color. It should be fun to do.

I want to see pictures if you do, seriously. With some black wheels that could look mean.

I've been seriously considering this for my SLK - it's black right now and I loathe the color. It looks great, and it looks particularly great on a Mercedes, but it's the biggest PITA to maintain. One speck of dust and the whole car looks filthy. I spend an absurd and disproportionate amount of time obsessively trying to keep the thing looking clean. Yeah, I know part of it is me being overly nitpicky, but I can't stand dirty/trashy looking cars. I'll never buy another black one as long as I live simply because I can't stand the upkeep required.

I suppose I'd consider a flat black but the whole "murdered out" thing is pretty played out at this point. More likely a wild yellow or red. Something for the attention whore in me. I wonder how Viper Green would look on an SLK... Heh, heh, heh.

Anyone know how long the vinyl stuff holds up? I've been told around 3-4 years but has anyone on here had it done?

Guys you don't want to try this on your own. The guys in that video are very skilled... Let me explain it this way.

My parents have been applying vinyl for 20yrs and still won't tackle a wrap. Getting it down right over body lines is hard. You will moat likely ruin lots of vinyl trying. The best vinyl has a 7yr life and will be a total PITA to remove, possibly taking paint with it. By nature vinyl drys out, cracks, shrinks, and peels. It's cool on a race car that will get beat up, not the best idea for show.

I bet I could find imperfections in that Ferrari wrap, it's just the nature of the beast.
