You don't want to do it on the netbook anyway. I cloned my Netbook drive by installing it and the SSD in spare slots on my desktop. It was MUCH faster than a USB clone.

Besides, the software requires you to boot the CD, or at least the Kingston software did.

If I had it to do again, I'd buy an A-Data drive. The A-data I used for my mother's computer seems faster. But it boots faster than my drafting machine. I think I used an older Kingston model.

OTOH, it is also a faster computer. The ATOM is a 1.6 GHZ, 2 core. The build I did was a triple core and 3.5 GHZ, so about 6 times the capability.

I'm thinking of upgrading the video, since yours worked. E-mail me the vendor you used.

Have you tweaked windows for the ssd?

Windows 7 - Ultimate SSD Speed Tweaks

I'm not sure which of these really make a difference.

All done. That was pretty easy.

My Windows Experience score has gone from 2.0 to 2.3

2.3 processor - unchanged
4.5 memory - unch
2.0 graphics - went to 2.3
3.0 3D graphics - unch
5.4 disk transfer rate - went to 7.1

It wakes from sleep in about 2-3 seconds. Cool. Still takes about 25 seconds to wake from hibernation.

The 1366x768 screen takes a bit of getting used to. The fonts are small. But I still like it.

Wow. The Google Chrome browser takes about 3 seconds to launch and load the Google homepage.

Sounds about like my HP-Slate. Mrs. Red-beard's XP netbook starts pretty darn fast, with the SSD drive. Cold boot to windows loaded in about 35 seconds. I expect I will use hibernation on that machine much more now.

I need to look at the SSD Windows tips, to hopefully make this desktop a little faster.
