i got beat down by rain and traffic..SoCal.
God is such the jokester..hardeeharhar..
i stop for gas somewhere on I-5, and had to flip my wipers on. the rain was brutal! all the way across LA and beyond i was doing the high to med wiper adjust. it was bumper to bumper traffic, and crazy rain. i gave up in Redlands and stumbled into a great italian joint. i was soaked, having given my wife my goretex to cover her head..i sat down, and the waitress laid down a glass of chianti...i had wine and lots of food, so i am calling it a night. rain let up in Indio..and i am beat. done. i am traveling with a case of wine, so i may crack one open...talk to my wife, and wait for this damn lunar eclipse..if the rain clouds cooperate. i have my pelican gift in the back of my truck. the drug dogs havent gotten suspicious yet!

Life on the road,, I remember a couple summers ago hitting a god awful T-storm in Kansas, felt really good to settle into the hotel room..

the worst I've ever been in was a hurricane in W. Virginia in 1990-ish. I was on my old R80RT. There was nowhere to get off the road, no bridges, nuthin". I kept going till I found a Sheetz. THAT was heaven.

Just watch the POPO up in the panhandle.
In the NE we had Hurricanes, Blizzards, Nor Easters. Then I moved to TX and the only way I could describe the weather was "Biblical". 2nd year here I had a Tornado touch down 10 ft in front of my car and pass right over me. Scared the ever livin crap outa me. The locals called it a dirt devil and laughed at me. Whatever, when you're in your car and it's completely engulfed in a swirling mass of dirt and debris and you feel the car spin a little you'll scream like a 10 year old girl to.

We're supposed to get 5 to 6 days of straight rain. In my 30 years living here, I don't think I've seen that before. When I retire I'm not moving to Oregon.
