That is cool, but the driver must be a masochists.
There is no car made from the 60s that would be a good daily driver today. With that said, my brother drives a 1952 VW bug for his daily driver. ![]()

Zero-rust CA. car with patina that money can't always buy:

Quick cars - rattle traps and stiff as a frat boy but great lines nonetheless...

Love the patina......
I think the Plus 4 has Triumph running gear. I was never a fan of the 4 seater, which I think this is, but apart from that pretty damn cool ![]() Just think, you can still buy one pretty much made the same way to this day! Oh and a side note about side screens - I had one of the windows in those blow out on me in an MGA going about 70mph - gave me one hell of a fright the noise it made - boommmmmmmm!

Saw a late 60's Vette in the parking lot at Kohls a few days before Christmas. It was jammed in between a mini-van and a Suburban. Dirty, some scratches, etc. 30 minutes later I was getting in my truck and saw it pull out. 60-ish grey-haired woman pulled away in it, driving as if she'd been driving it for 40 years.
Would be interesting to ID the owner of that Morgan. We'd probably all be surprised. Didn't they have wooden frames back then?

Cool, but no thanks as a daily driver. Don't really care for the +4 body style either. But I love seeing old cars like that driving around. Can't beat that kind of patina. I agree Denis, An old unrestored speedster like that would be great.

Awesome.
I regularly see an elderly gentleman in his TR-4 with significantly more patina ("Michigan Patina" is probably a more appropriate description). Oddly enough, I only seem to see him in the fall and winter months. I can only imagine how many planks of wood he must be sitting on by now. I daily drove a 240z for 5 years, but that was a luxury car compared to the old Morgan or TR. Last edited by Sarc; 12-29-2010 at 04:00 PM.. |

ive been daily driving 60's cars for the last 10 years.......'67 912, ' 61 TR3, '62 TR4, '65 Mercedes 190. The TR4 is noisy, hot (or frigidly cold), loud, and uncomfortable.....but i love it. when it breaks down, i can fix it in a matter of minutes. being intimately familiar with it helps the daily headaches.
the 912 and mercedes felt like a modern cars compared to the TR's
