Yep that is the standard I use for purchasing a car.

Just looked up the private party resale value for a 2009 Bullitt Mustang in excellent condition with low miles: $23K and some change. Few more years a 944 will be worth more than that used "Bullitt."

There was a song some time ago, Welcome to the boomtown maybe? . there was a line in there that went " Mrs Christina drives a 944, satisfaction oozes from her pores".
I cannot figure out, if Paul is trying to sell all of us on a new mustang, or if he is just constantly yanking on Syd's chains.

Actually, I know this doesn't help make your point but there are others, although I won't bring them up, mainly 'caused they sucked.

Its this, I try to avoid taking the bait... I really do. He has it out for me b/c I am young and do not take his schit. He says I attacked him once, I assure that if I did it was not unprovoked. Someone made the statement that a well prepared 944 could take his moosewang in the twisties, He's senial and thinks that was me....

I want to know when the mods started putting up with almost constant trolling?

javadog 01-05-2011 02:26 PM

Ah, what the Hell, here's one:

I like the Mustangs. Might own one someday.

But I'll stick with the Death Star for now :)

Agreed...

I love mustangs, my friend's 5.0 is a blast to drive and he takes good care of it. It barely gives him trouble. I even love the new mustangs and I think they are a bargain for the price. However, I also love my 944S2. I never bothered responding to one of these threads because I thought Paul was just trying to piss Sidney off, which I can rightfully understand. Nonetheless, I would just like to say one thing.

I sure as hell can't wait to tick off all the owners of their fifth generation mustang 21 years from now by relentlessly bashing their cars and comparing it to a brand new car. This is provided of course that their car even lasts 20 years and all the electronic aids in these cars still work.

Take Care Paul SmileWavy

Dude, not cool!
I was eating a piece of red licorice when I read that and I laughed so hard I choked on it.
My wife had to do the hind lick on me!

j/k bout that last part.

Sigh.....he was doing so well, I thought the meds were finally working. Past trolls were crazy in an interesting way, I think he's the first one that simply posts the exact same thing in EVERY thread.

Oh... oh... can I forward this to my wife?

Mrs (when are you going to get rid of that thing?)

Ya may not like the cars featured in this one, but there are other attractions...;)

Poor Sidney, we all know his secret desire is to have a cool Mustang...especially now that it's known to be the favorite car of strippers & hookers...

Porsche-O-Phile 01-05-2011 03:52 PM

I've owned a 5.0 Mustang in the past and currently own a 944. Both have their plusses and minuses. The Mustang was crude and inelegant but frightfully fast in a straight line. However it wasn't any faster than my old (admittedly modded) 951. And the 944/951 can actually do curves.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of attending the annual TRE New Years drive. I took my 951, a lot of 911s showed up as well as someone in a new Cobra. The Cobra was quick but despite being 20-odd years newer than my 951 (which had stock suspension at the time and only very mild drivetrain modifications) got utterly HUMILIATED in the curves. How was this 20-y/o "not a real Porsche" beating me?!?! You could sense the irritation after this went on a while.

Both makes will give you fun and thrills, but I would miss not having a 944 a lot more than I miss having my Mustang... But there are times I do miss it.

Here's the new 5.0 vs. a new M3...in the twisties. Hmmmmm The Bullitt Mustang was a suspension "test mule" of sorts for future models...

Riveting. I for one am amazed to learn that lighting technology developing in 1962 has been eclipsed by that sold on cars in 2010. I'm sure others are as surprised as I am.

These are some true pearls you are laying on us, I certainly didn't know this to be the case.

Can you please tell us which car has better AC?

'72S had no air. My old 1970 911T had factory air ...it worked really well, as long as the ambient air temp didn't get above 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

I understand the new waterpumper 911's, with their engine in the rear and their radiators up front, have great air conditioning. 944's probably have great air conditioning as well, as long as their waterpumps hang in.
