If they're anything like Russia, much of it is based off of stolen American technology anyway.

If their weapons manufacturing is anything like the rest of the stuff they make, I think their soldiers have to be more worried than anyone else's.

Does that make it any less lethal or any less of a threat to our own 7th Fleet?

That's kind of ironic, seeing as it's their money that funds a large part of our own stealth technology.

China has a lot of internal problems that we don't hear about.
Their government focuses a lot of energy and resources on that issue. Are they capable of launching some sort of campaign internationally? Probably yes but it's not something "they" would want to do right now IMO. Down the road? Who knows??? BTW: China is today exactly what America wanted it to be. A manufacturing base for cheap products. ![]()

Mark my words.
You are all wrong. I have lived and worked in Mainland China. I now work in an industry that prepares our servicemen to defend this country from aerial attacks. The Chinese threat is the most credible threat we face. Now and in the future. There are others, but they are #1. Their avionics, aircraft and missile systems are on a par with ours and are getting better. Our advantage, for the moment, is training and personnel. Make no mistake about that old saw about cheap Chinese made products. They are still out there. But not when it comes to their military electronics. After all, it is where all of OUR electronics come from now, maybe not recognizably, but the parts certainly do. We have allowed this to happen. We now get to 'reap the wind'.... |

It's downright frightening how few people seem to realize this. They make boogiemen out of cultures and countries that are simply no threat to America, but ignore the rising Chinese tide.

They are not stupid. IMO the reality of mutual annihilation is probably not somewhere they want to go. It worked for more than 50 years with the Soviets.

Peter, they could win without ever firing a shot. That is how they will do it.
