Smile Xbox 360 ?

I got a 360 for christmas and was wondering if the microsoft racing wheel is worth buying or not and its force feedback which means it will like move under its own power if i were to crash.

this one: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessracingwheel/default.htm

thanks

Force feedback wheels are fun for racing games.

Really improves the overall experience.

If the developer of the game overdoes the feedback it can be annoying/distracting.

But that's' a function of individual software titles, not the hardware.

That's the wheel you want. You'll be completely addicted to Forza. Hard to excel at Forza without a wheel and the one you linked to is the best for xbox360.

That's not true. I've played Forza for over 2 years and have never used a wheel and I've unlocked almost all the tracks on FM1 without ever using a wheel.

I got a 360 for Christmas and FM2 and I haven't bought a wheel for it and have enjoyed the heck out of playing it.

I do not use a wheel for console games, the xbox controller is quite good in allowing you to ease on/off brakes and throtle. But some folks do do better with the wheel.

Project Gotham Racing 3 or Project Gotham Racing 4
I've got 3, want 4
it's pretty sweet

My brother has Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and loves it. Don't know if you're into that kind of stuff, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Just curious, how many other people on here have a 360? (I just got one for xmas). And another thought, I think it'd be cool if enough of us had xbox live (I'm hoping to get it soon), we could create a Pelican Forza 2 gaming group, and race each other...again, just a thought I had...

Coolness! We've got 2 PS2s (one's mine from college, one's my brother's), an orig. xbox (mine that i bought from a guy at college), and an ancient N64 (that we still play) cos that Mario 64 game is just too much fun!

I don't know anything about how to do xbox live, but we've got 2 free trials with some games we bought, and we've got broadband internet, so I'm sure we could make it work...my only concern is the 360 is downstairs and the computer is upstairs (tho I prolly could use my new laptop)

We also still have our PS2, Xbox and Gamecube You have two options with the Xbox Live. You can run an ethernet cable all the way to the console or, if you have a wireless network in your house, you can purchase a wireless adapter for the 360 for $99. Ours is <6 feet from the router so we use a cabled setup but either way will work.

porsche4life I hope you don't mind me asking a question but does anyone know if Halo 3 and Forza 2 will play on the older xbox machine? It's the xbox machine that was out before the current model.

I love racing Forza and playing Halo when time permits.

Thanks!

Isn't the Xbox 360 scheduled for obsolescence like next year or something?

Somehow running out and blowing $800 on a game system (which is what it will cost by the time all is said and done with the console, controllers, hard drives, wheels, games, etc.) that's going to be obsolete soon seems ridiculous to me, even if Forza is cool. . .
