I think Wayne is pretty busy these days and doesn't watch the forums every day - Joe, have you actually tried sending a PM or calling Wayne?

1. The "911quest" comparison isn't valid. That story displays bad form, but it's not a crime. Not even close. JD stole whole cars. Engines. Trannys.

I bet Mark Fraser is a nice fella, but when he was rippin' angry (as he should be) he violated the rules of the forum a hell of a lot of times. He changed his user name a few times, and kept going on and on after repeated warnings from the mods. I posted casually in one of the JD threads and I got more than one effluent PM from Mark, which (while understandable in his angry state) seemed a little off to me. He does not need to be 'asked back.' If he wants to come back, he will, and if there's something the Mods need to do for him to make that happen, maybe they will.

Sad but true.. But is it Wayne, or the mod who has the "Lock" button?? There is one who is clearly selective in his locking and threads that aren't locked on the sales boards...

well worth the beotching when it comes to saving some poor unsuspecting newbie 911 owner the wasted $$.
And if a newbie gets screwed, he could very easily think the entire Porsche community is like that.. It is in all of our best interest to out criminals, including Wayne's.. If newbies get the idea that guys into old Porsches are all like Jimmy, they may go hang out with the Vette guys...

Ya think? The Pelican community is like a bunch of lemmings

Who would think that an ulterior motive exists that allows this BBS to flourish...

Don't know the full story.. but apparently a thief was sent to the Graybar Hotel, and that us usually a good thing

This thief could have been sent to prison years ago had we been allowed to post what he was doing on the very same board where he was "harvesting" his victims.

We are still looking for people he stole from because his name is blocked on all forums and cannot be posted. Wish we all had an explanation for that one.

Dave,

Please do not try to pass this one along. Pretty busy huh? I can almost guarantee that every time the name Jimmy Deering is posted on the forum that two moderators and the list owner get a notification.

Not our job to try to contact Wayne. The three of us have been more than busy getting Jimmy arrested and put in jail. They found us fast enough when we posted in the past and know very well how to contact us now. Frankly the contact needs to be here on this thread telling all the Pelican members what happened and why they were allowed to be ripped off and not trying to talk with the three of us.

One would have thought that with over 5000 viewers and 125+ posts that someone would say something. Eventually they may realize that this is not going to go away.

and one of the reasons jimmy deering is in fact incarcerated right now.......
joe made a very valid point earlier.....how many other unknowns are out there who were victims? they need to speak up or be contacted.....i have a feeling the number is MUCH larger than currently proven.......

Joe and company did a great job getting jimmy dickface put away. I know joe's frustration with the forum. The criminal found his victims on the forum and the forum protected him.....

Wayne can run his forum how he sees fit, I guess. It is a great public service 99% (or more) of the time, but it is here because it generates revenue. The instances of people getting screwed are few, but it seems when they do get screwed they get it big time.

Perhaps a list of known scam artists, bull**** artists, con men etc could be posted as a sticky and then it could be added to as more folks get taken to trial. Sort of a public service type idea...

Cheers

There is no way for the powers that be to save face. I am predicting a thread lock along with a broom and a rug.

That won't happen. Tabs hasn't predicted it yet (or has he?).

We don't know what Wayne's lawyer(s) may have recommended. I have a feeling (and that's really all it is) that a lawyer put a "gag order" recommendation in and that's why we haven't seen a word from the mods or Wayne. Just a possibility...

Of course. I really don't think you could find a higher ethical standard in this biz than PP.
