Pure-gas - ethanol free website
Don't know if this has been posted before, but someone just gave me a link to a site that tracks ethanol-free gas stations.
Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada About pure-gas.org pure-gas.org is a site dedicated to one, simple task: to list the gas stations in the U.S. and Canada that serve ethanol-free gasoline. Many cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft and tools have engines that run worse, or have parts that deteriorate, when run on gasoline that contains ethanol. In addition, ethanol leaves residue on valves and other parts that can hinder performance.

We are lucky in Oklahoma. The law is that the pump must be labeled with a clear notice of percentage of ethanol. The two gas stations close to my house both sell 100% gas.

Ethanol really burns my ass. It makes zero sense on any level. 100% federal give away to farmers who frequently don't need the $$$. Its not like the money is going to maw and paw in the old farm house. My stepfather is a 'farmer'. He hasn't stepped foot on a farm in 30 years. But on paper he owns 800 head of cattle, and farms hundreds of acres in Michigan. His brother is compensated by the rest of the family to run the business. They all do damn well for themselves.

How do you know there's no ethanol? Because they advertise it? Perhaps I'm a bit cynical but for some reason I tend to be skeptical about the honesty and integrity of the gasoline retailers in the country.
This is an industry that gets away with blatant gouging and price fixing. The Red Robin near me (Greenville...and on their list)...also advertises that you'll get 25% better gas mileage if you buy their gas. Does anyone remember 2008?

It'd think it'd be easy enough to find out with a water titration... Any chemists here?

Or more importantly....how is this stuff monitored? I'm guessing it's not...or if it is, it's a gubmint employee who drives by without stopping and checks the box. I always thought that all gas retailers get their fuel from the same regional distributor, same supply. The only difference is any additives that a specific retailer may say that they add (Techron?).
