Not really a hatch in the sense of the thread, but I had one back in the day. Bought it when it was a year old. Chicks dug it. Had a lot of neat features. Mine was Bright Red with Black leather.

This was my favorite Hatchback. I bought this in college. It was a 2 year old 1985 Mustang GT.
Great car.

This was fun, until I sold it. An '04 R32. I hated the lousy 19 inch wheels, though. Not a good idea on real-world roads.

I love the M/Z3 coupe. Almost bought one some years back, but unless it would be a second car I need a back seat. The hatch area did fit my 2-10 bass cab though.
My GTI w/DSG was pretty competent at the track. The A3 was fun but for some reason was not as tossable (both were bone stock). The Subie is faster than both of them, but the interior and build quality isn't up to the same standard. My first wife's uncle had a GLH (as well as a trick '60's Ranchero, some mid 60's Ferrari and some other oddities) and he loved that car. |

I was in a pick-a-part yard with my stepson looking for parts for his ranger. On one row there was a Festiva with out an engine. Second car to the left of it was a rear-ended SHO Taurus. Fate tempted me!
Uhm honey! they just fallowed me home, trust me it will be REALLY fricken cool when it's done! Trust me, Jay Leno has one!

I love the R5 Turbo. But the fact is, a new GTi or Mazdaspeed 3 would probably give an R5 a run for its money on a track or canyon. Either car would certainly outdo the R5 in utility. Plus, there's the issue of parts...
As to the GLH and Charger, Carroll Shelby in an interview said when he lived in Bel Air, CA., he often used Mulholland Hwy as a proving ground for the two cars, embarrassing many a Porsche, Mustang, Z28 or whatever in the process.

After selling my 69' 911t last year, I took the plunge on this little beast....
The new Renault Sport Clio 200 with cup chassis. Its a shame you guys don't get them in the states, Brembo's, Recaro's 2.0 NA with 200hp. Its pretty much the rawest, most fun hot hatch on the market. It gives well driven new Porsches a good run for money on the track. Renault are the king of hot hatches.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is the same car at the Ring, with a bit of ouch! A friend had a R5 Turbo, the procedure to buy one new was to have it shipped to a place (in TX IIRC) to have it Federalized first.
There were 3 versions available, the two street-legal ones were 185 or 210HP (he got the 210) and the third was the aluminum-roofed rally version with 300-something HP. This is from memory so take that into consideration. His car was quite quick, but the handling was a bit quirky ![]() It's nice to see some love for the Shelby Dodge hot hatchbacks, we had several (including the GLH-S versions) and made a fun road racer out of one. Good times, Brian

love hatches too. first car was a rabbit and it was a blast to drive. wouldn't mind checking out a wrx hatch but just wouldn't be able to tolerate any attention from the fast and furious set.
