Whats up with Horton? Think the league will actually suspend him for game 7? I think the fans need to be accountable for their behavior. The guy just lost a heart breaker, he was being pelted with junk and possibly verbally abused.

Oh please! How much is he getting paid to play a game he loves? 6 or 7 figures?

I'd trade places.

One more thing: Why is the national anthem televised, sometimes two? Can't they sing it at 7:50 and drop the puck at 8:02? Seriously, night after night of the same thing....why????

I like the anthem's, sets the tempo to the start to the game, when you hear 18K plus fans singing the anthem at Rogers arena you know 1 thing for sure, the Canucks fans are in to it. Nowhere else does the singer stop singing and the anthem continues at the same volume, makes me proud to be a Canadian. IMO a well sung anthem is a beautiful thing and it sure pumps the crowd up too, I stand and sing at home. I've also been on the ice in front of about 10K fans and as a player it is a modivator like nothing else, just watch the anthem for the start of game one at Rogers and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Go Canucks Go

+1 I've always been impressed with this. Every Canadian venue seems to be the same too. Doesn't hurt that your anthem is actually "sing-able".SmileWavy

Hey guys, I'm back. Mom's funeral was a celebration of life. The pastor had us laughing at some of the ways my stern little 4'9" German mom did things. She was a hoot for sure and he nailed it.
Now back to the current world:
I recorded the Eastern game 6 and watched it today. Sad to say, if TT hadn't let in that soft goal (the one where he was mad at himself and banged his stick on the ice) it could have been... The Canucks won on a flukey bounce of the boards but that's hockey and the best defense against it is to have a 5 goal lead.

Observations for tonight:
1) Tampa wins: 6-5, 5-3, 5-4. Boston wins: 5-2, 2-0, 3-1. Seems to me that a low scoring game favors the B's (except for that first one). Tim will have to be at 110%. Chara will have to be strong and they have to stay out of the sin bin.
2) A 3-0 goal lead is death to the B's (game 7 with the Flyers last year and then again with Tampa this series). I'd rather have a lead by 2 than 3.

I love when the whole stadium sings along. I believe it reflects an earlier time when people were less self-centered and believed in the good of their country and fellow man (NO reflection on anyone here). We need some old fashioned patriotism. It is that attitude that helped men live and die for what they believe. Even tho I don't like the Flyers, I love the way the fans love their anthem. Don't tell anyone but I love to sing along with the Canadian anthem. It is a beautiful song with some great words. That said, I sometimes get anxious for the game to start.

Concerning officating, I really hope that the refs step back and let the game go. Bad calls are aggravating and missed calls are frustrating but soft calls are infuriating! I want the best team to win based on the playing and not the ref.

Anyone want to declare the winner of tonight's game?
High or low scoring?
Will the Bruins get a power-play goal tonight? (Its sad to have to ask "if" :()
How many points before Roloson gets pulled?
How about penalty minutes?
Who will be the first ones to fight?
Who will be the hero?
C'mon, step up and speak out.

4-3. Tampa. Feel free to bet YOUR money on the outcome.

Por_sha911 05-27-2011 02:41 PM

60 minutes or longer? Who will be the difference maker?

1990C4S 05-27-2011 02:44 PM

No OT. A quick goal by Tampa, first minute will crush Boston's hopes. ;)

I think Lecalvier, St Louis & Stamkos will play great. And Roloson. Who has NEVER lost a knock-out game. (7-0) IIRC)

And I'm not sure TT has ever won one....

Por_sha911 05-27-2011 03:06 PM

As a rule, the Bruins don't get crushed hopes. They've won a few early goal deficits recently. They don't always win but they do keep going. They're far worse at holding a lead.
Purcell has been cashing in on the B's tight defense of the Stamkos, St Louis and Lecavlier.
I'm hoping for a 3-1 Bruin win with Thomas making epic saves and goals from Lucic, Recchi, and Bergeron but I won't mind if they have more...

Short memory? How about this year against, let's see, maybe the Habs???

Welcome back Joe

Well, the way he played in the 1st Period, I'll say that he will not be pulled and he could be the hero...

Por_sha911 05-27-2011 04:54 PM

Thanks. You may be right but remember that low scoring games all went Boston's way. Just saying...
Excellent first period on both sides.

JJ 911SC 05-27-2011 04:59 PM

I'm thinking 3-1 including an empty net one

flatbutt 05-27-2011 05:18 PM

Welcome back Joe. The way it's going so far it is still anyone's game. Fantastic hockey, heads up, hard hits, balls to the wall.

I'm glad Horton didn't get screwed by the water bottle incident.

flatbutt 05-27-2011 05:37 PM

I'm really scratchin my head on the non-call against TB in their net

Por_sha911 05-27-2011 05:51 PM

End of 2: 0-0. What a game! Good thing Stamkos has a visor or he would have been toast. The Bruins have some serious puck possession but Roloson is playing strong.

flatbutt 05-27-2011 06:42 PM

unbe-freakin-lievable....anyone who knows anything about this game MUST be impressed

THAT was a game 7

flatbutt 05-27-2011 06:47 PM

Somebody go get Porsha off of his roof!;)

Por_sha911 05-27-2011 06:58 PM

Horton hears a woo!
