I'm sure they will get the traditional warm Boston welcome given to all visitors... Thomas is the kind that will just laugh and enjoy their antics.
|
Back in the early 80's, our ship visited Boston for a few days of R&R.
In a shop downtown, as we were speaking French among a few of us, someone ask if we were Nordiques player. Sure we played along, so some Bostonian got a Mario Marois (close to JJ) fake autograph :D:D:D Ah the good old days :) T minus 31 minutes and counting... |
That was all TTs fault...a brilliant game then he goes wandering.
|
Game 1 winning goal scored with 18 seconds left before going into overtime
Game 2 winning goal score at 11 seconds into the 1st overtime Lack of Focus... Crowds walk downtown Vancouver streets in delirium after thrilling Canucks win |
Joe, we will see what your team can do on home ice, 2 tight games in Vancouver, my call is for a spit in Boston, win it at home in 5.
Big night for the fans with Manny back in the line up, emotional for sure, wins 6 of 7 faceoffs, then the biter getting 3 points, I'm sure there will be talk about that - "he should have been suspended", hey the league made the right call so you'll have to live with it, they also made another good call by dumping Colon Campbell, enough with that bum. Finn |
OK so not ALL TTs fault but he was waaaaay to far out of the paint. A heartbreaker for sure but probably not a backbreaker.
|
Flatbutt, I disagree, I think it is a back breaker to lose 2 close games and to lose the way they did with seconds left in the first game and seconds into OT has to have an effect on the Boston players, I also think that Chara is being over played, he was out there all the time it seemed and looked dog tired, didn't hear his minutes but it has to be big. No doubt the Bruins will play better at home ( i only get to see the first period, but it looked like the BB out played us in the first, or at least with us, did Lou make some nice saves or what ) but its a long climb back. If Vancouver wins game 3 it will crush their little hearts, (then for a month Por_sha911 has to sign as "I love Gary Bettman" , that in itself would be terrible) looking forward to 2 different teams and stratagies for game 3 and I will get to watch the whole game so that's a bonus
Go Canucks Go Finn |
It's not over. Two close games, could be 1-1 now. Boston has to win the next two.
All in 11 seconds: Ferrence gave the puck away, and then pinched without support. Thomas overplayed the puck, got caught and could have tripped Burrows. Chara should have tackled Burrows. Four mistakes. |
Finn...well the beauty of team sports is you never know till it's over. You could be right. But as a fan of the game I hope you're wrong. National pride aside(FWIW) I admit it would be very nice to see Vancouver win their first cup. I always applaud the Cup winner as I truly believe this is amongst the most grueling championship in the world. But I really, really luv it when the final goes 7.
|
Agreed on the 'anything can happen' rule. My son's beloved Habs had a 2-0 start against the Bruins and they're all golfing now. These last playoff games were so close they could almost be decided by a coin toss.
And Chara? Well, thank goodness that monster can't skate! :D |
Not many here will get that joke. I do. :)
The concern for Boston fans is a) Thomas can not play much better, and they still lost b) the power play has gone from non-existent to pathetic, but might be stuck there c) they need to beat a very very good team four of the next five games. Maybe the Bruins learned something from Philly last year. If they are going to come back Bergeron has to lead them. |

Joe, Any thought on tonight game? I think Ti-Claude should do (or say) something different... Yes both game could have gone the other way but can not really afford a split in Bean Towns. |
So far its ugly. Hoping Horton is OK. And LaPierre continues to be a serious butthead.
|
Dirty hit. Late. Shoulder to the head. And he left his feet to hit him. Watch the replay in slow motion. He jumped. Intent to injure. Deserves a few games.
|
Just heard that he's in Mass Gen with all limbs moving. Whew
|
2 or three strides without the puck. Not cool.
Hope they throw the book at Rome on this one. NHL needs a whipping boy for this and Rome is bent over and presenting.... Hope Horton is OK. |
The rumors of my (Bruins) death are highly exaggerated!
Thomas stops 40/41 and even scores a legal hit on H. Sedin.
Thomas has stopped 104/108 so far (.963%) and he sure didn't look tired to me. The B's get 2 PP goals Marchand shorty Paille shorty Now lets look at the Canucks: D Sedin gets 10 minute misconduct H Sedin has 0 shots on goal in this series Luongo stopped 8/38 tonight .789% Canucks were 0/8 PP Burrows gets a slight whack from Lucic and gives an Academy Award performance like he's been shot by a gun. Rome: another class act along with Burrows. Hopefully the league will send a message. (Hawkeye: you need to tell the Canucks to quit the "goon tactics" and the diving. One positive note: Malhotra is first Canuck behaving honorably for apologizing for the shot into the Bruin bench. The Canucks squeaked out two close games. Game two should have been with Burrows in a suit and tie instead of being a key player. The Bruins got mad at all the stupidity and said "enough". The Bruins have heart and won't quit. Its tough to beat a team like that in a best of 7 series. I originally predicted the B's in 6. I really would have preferred if they didn't lose the first two and then win 4 in a row but I'll take it any way I can. In conclusion: gentlemen, we have a series. |
s_morrison: sorry for your complete humiliation tonight. Not.
(payback for your comment on post #361) Keep practicing that " I love gary b..." thing. You may need it. |
