Aw, you shouldn't have... I have enjoyed the win and basked in the glow of gloating but it is summer and time to turn my attention to the Porsche.
Interesting thought: did you notice who the B's chose for their first round draft choice? A hard hitting 6'5" defenseman. What a shock. I guess they are sticking with Bruins style hockey: If you can't beat `em (against the boards) you'll probably lose.

Really, get out :D:):D

Por_sha911 07-06-2011 12:40 PM

I'm a little disappointed

Not a single word from any of all you Bruins fans out there. I know you're out there because I've seen all those wonderful avatars over the last few months. :D

Not one person brought up that Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins won the Vezina Trophy!

Tim won the Cup, Conn Smythe and the Vezina but darn, he didn't get the Norris. I guess they got tired of handing trophies to the same guy over and over. No shame in losing to Lidstrom but you gotta admit, TT really had a record year. He killed the GAA, Save %, number 2 in SO.

Corey Perry got the Hart. Good for him.
Some guy named Kesler won the Selke.
St Louis took the Lady Bing (I really thought Marchand or Horton would have won that one) ;)

s_morrison57 07-06-2011 02:20 PM

Joe
I thought the Hart should have gone to one of the Sedin's and the Jack adams to Vignoult.
I followed your instructions and this is my first response so we will see what happens, but just in case it didn't work, yes you guessed it - " I love Gary Bettman, the greatest hockey mind ever "
Finn

s_morrison57 07-06-2011 02:26 PM

Joe
Yes it worked, I will leave that for 6 weeks , the 2 when I was late and the 4 weeks for the bet.
Congrats to the Bruins, they were the better team, TT was super.
Finn
I love Gary Bettman

Por_sha911 07-06-2011 03:35 PM

Finn: you are a man of your word. Get well soon.
p.s. I think I would have chosen the avatar rather than the Gary Bettman quote.

Joe

You are too visual :D

You have no idea how much it hurt as a Canuck to say anything nice about G.B. aka Trous de Cul

Por_sha911 07-16-2011 01:33 PM

All good things eventually come to an end.
Thank you to s_morrison57, 1990C4S, and Trader220 for sharing in the celebration but your debt to society has been paid in full. I hope to see you again Oct 6th:
Philly at Boston
Montreal at Toronto
Pittsburg at Vancouver
Looks like something for everyone.

There's a new banner in the Garden:

It all begins again tonight. All teams are tied for the lead up until 7 pm.

I expect there will be some snarl between the B's and the Flyers. They love each other about as much as the B's and the Habs.

JJ 911SC 10-06-2011 01:54 PM

I was waiting for that...

Looking Good ;)

The B's will easily take the Habs if they stick to Bruin style hockey. The Habs don't have the weight to throw around like the B's do. Also, with all due respect, I'll take Thomas over Price thank you.

A six team league and Montreal had a lock on all the best players from Quebec. Great 'dynasty'. What have they done since there has been parity in the league?
Let the trash talk begin. ;)

Arrête de vivre dans le passé...

Yes, let the new season begin :)

JJ: …dit les fanions de signalisation d'homme d'une équipe qui hasn' ; t a eu une présence commandante dans l'hockey pendant 20 années.

In the meantime, the Bruins blew a perfectly good game last night. They had total control of the first 10-15 minutes and then gave away two goals at the very end of the 1st period. They Defense let the Flyers walk right in. The rest of the game was good hockey. THe B's had many excellent chances (a crossbar and two others that got by Bryz but didn't go in) but Bryzgalov put on a command performance and stole the game with phenomenal saves. The better team won last night.

From what little I saw of the Broons vs Flyers, old 'Double J' looks like he has a little something left in the tank. Whether he can hack the full schedule remains to be seen. Welcome back to the NHL "Mario Jr.".

Cheers
JB

There is no doubt that JJ still has the skills and shows excellent fitness (even if he's lost a step). The real test will be if he can keep his attitude together.

THANK GOD FOR HOCKEY SEASON. This is the best time of the year, MLB is just about done, I only watch the playoffs, NBA is gone, no lose for me there, and NFL & CFL plus our beloved Hockey - What could be better, I'll tell ya what could be better - The Canucks sweeping the Bruins in this seasons final and having Joe paste it all over that HE loves Gary Bettman, that would be better.
Welcome back Gents, who's your pick for the Cup this year, I think my pick is pretty clear, even the Leafs won their opener. Best up and coming team - Edmonton has to be considered, Scoring title, one of the twins.
Finn

The Bruins wont be back at the show for another 40 years, it's boston!! they have been shooting themselves in the foot for years, nothing will change. Vancouver doesnt have a chance unless you get a goaltender, Luongo's done, been way overrated for years, He is no Martin Brodeur, not even close. you have to go with detroit, Helm is coming into his own, let alone Zetterberg and Datsyuk. i'm going with Detroit!

Reg 10-07-2011 05:28 PM

...........and the Leafs will be in the payoffs - this season. :D

Hey, we blew our first game. Its not how you start but how you finish. The Bruins won last year because they didn't cave under pressure even when they started game 3 of the Stanley Cup in Vancouver down 0-2 games. Tim Thomas epitomizes that work ethic with a never quit attitude. He'll never have the numbers Broduer has but I'd rather watch Tim than Martin any day.
