Tim Thomas was horrendous again. Two huge rebounds that were tap-ins for the Habs. Meanwhile Carey Price was great when he had to be.

Bruins have no defence, no power play, (0 for 7), no ability to show restraint and avoid stupid penalties. They are being out-coached and outplayed.

They can show up tomorrow or play two more games then hit the links.

Well, the Bruins finally decided to show up for the playoffs. It ain't over yet but they do very well when they get a lead. Ironically, this past year they did better with away games than at home. Hopefully...

Apparently you are watching the game. What elicited the tirade against Chara?

Boston's best game. And they were still life and death to prevent the Habs from making it 3-3.

Where is the regular season team? Where is Thomas? The second goal? Between the legs by a guy on the goal line? Come on.

Maybe it was just normal douche-ness, not a specific act? Aside from jumping on the ice long before Ferrence came off.

Sounds more like just sour grapes to me. Chara is a solid defenseman who had a long record of clean playing and sportsmanship. He's not a big mouth, a showboat, or an agitator.

OK THIS is a playoff game. Thomas and Price have put on quite a show so far despite the score. OT ought to be fierce.

edit...ok not so fierce. a real defensive let down for the Habs but props to TT for standing tough.

Any of you guys who still play hockey at 40 plus just marvel at Recchi? The difference in my game from age 39 to age 43 was significant. I know I know he's a professional and I am not but I am still in good shape and I have not taken the pounding of 20 plus NHL seasons yet I have lost more then a step since about age 41-43. Its amazing he still plays at the level he does and he's a forward.

Actually this is the essence of playoff hockey: Both teams battled hard, showed a lot of brilliance, gave 110% and ultimately one "oh shoot" is the difference maker. Of course, I was happy at the outcome but you gotta admit that the B's didn't fall apart when down by two goals. Props to Julien to call the timeout when he did. Don't forget you used to coach the Habs.
On another note: Luongo's head was in the Bahamas or somewhere else because it was not at the game last night. Again props to Chicago for two huge comeback games.

That's quite a compliment coming from someone from Philly.
I couldn't do at 30 what he does at 43 and he's not just making cameo appearances either. He's not a power forward but is a key player and he'll mix it up with the best of them.

Por-sha, yup the B's really hung tough and TT played a huge part in that. And Julien did indeed coach a smart game. I have to give Price props on that amazing glove save while on his belly. And getting his right leg up on to the left post to back up the trap? Amazing.

Luongo... seriously WTF? But I'm thinking you have to start him again while berating the guys in front of him to give him better protection. Chicago in 7?

Thomas made the saves when it mattered tonight, Price did not. Neither team had any defense. WTF was Jacques Martin thinking when he let his team sit back? They were all over Boston and then they sat back.

Luongo was not great, but he was not the real problem. His team did not play. Several of the goals he let in were deflections and screens. If he had played oustanding they still would have lost. No goalie was going to stop Hossa's shot on the break away.

He picks his spots, and he is smart. He is also a lot bigger than he was ten years ago. He must be in great shape.

For a few million a year I'd stay in shape too.

He'll never get a retired number or a spot in the hall of fame but he'll be remembered by a lot of fans.

I am a hockey fan, being from the Philly area has nothing to do with the topic. He played here too big deal.

Knowledge of the game, the ability to anticipate and put yourself in the right position before the puck gets there or before someone else gets there is huge. There have been tons of players with fantastic talent who just don’t make it because they don’t see the game on a higher plain. Those kinds of players make it to the NHL on raw talent but never make much of a career. There were a couple a “cant miss” number 1 over all picks in the 1990’s.. Pat Falloon and another guy who the Sens picked first his name started with a D but I cant recall it. They were really talented guys who didn’t really make it because despite talent they didn’t have what it takes. Recchi is refreshing because he has talent but he has that intangible ability to make plays away from the puck too.
