Andrej Pejic - androgynous blonde model hits the catwalks
I am a little intrigued by this guy...he's hit the catwalks in Europe in a big way, for both male and female shows.
I don't really have a view either way on this guy. For the record I don't find him attractive, either dressed as male or female; but he's certainly the flavour de jour for some of the designers. He is a "western suburbs Melbourne boy" of Bosnian-Herzegovinaian descent; 19yo... So, what do you guys think? Is the world ready for Andrej? We don't have to like him.
I suspect very few of us have dropped $5000 on a dress. We are not the intended market. The 'Oh so rich' and 'Oh so jaded' will love the novelty. There seems to be a fascination here in Melbourne at least. You want to hear the reporters fawn about this guy
 ...Moreover just about every report HAS to remind us that he is a Broadmeadows boy...this Western suburbs thing pops up ALL the time here and frankly it's getting mighty old with me (working class 'burbs and the West wants to keep trading on the label) . If he had been born and bred in Toorak (high end leafy suburb) I doubt he would have been labelled such a celebrity. As for him...I think cutting edge designers like Jean Paul Gaultier will continue to love him for a while yet...the shock value is a great platform. Gaultier should team Andrej with the Lady Gaga on the catwalk
