Maybe because we've all been to the other sites, realized they weren't for us, and then lighted here. That, and we do tend to run off the "chaff", while we take care of our own.

Not that there's anything wrong with that

I think it's a combo of all of this. I've been here for 11 years, seems like forever. The people I have actually met here (quite a few) are the ones I never have trouble with. The ones that have been trouble here are people no one has actually met, or are rejects from other sites. It seems the worst ones hide behind bluster and self-rightousness.

The anonymous factor comes to play as well. Trolling or flaming is easy for someone who is relatively anon. The really bad ones are still on the no-fly list, thank God.

Truly a great group for the most part, and the best part? we all drive the same type of cars.

Because classic air cooled Porsche owners have what it takes to own such fine vehicles: That is taste, class, education, modesty, and the brain that goes with true engineering abilitiy. These fundamental qualities also are reflected in all non-Porsche related discussions .
What about us water-cooled heathens?

Speak for yourself Tiny I have a 930 but there are lots of guys here that are looking for their first car or are between rides or have moved on but the bottom line is we all love these cars.

Well I don't take part in any of the childish antics on other forums but I read them all the time...perhaps thats why our content here is so good - nobody decides its a good idea to post rubbish.

Nonetheless, I am just happy to be a part of this community. Thank you, all.

It's the Cars!

And the bikes...

And the 'spoons'...

And the airplanes...

And more cars...

And the relationships...

And the Kids...

And the Docs...

And the Random Picts...

And...
And...
And... I could go on and on, but it really is a diverse groupe here with a LOT of combined knowledge.

I bet if we put our collective wisdom together, we could have solved the ancient Israel - Palestine conflict over afternoon tea (with just a drop of Jaegermeister).

I'll let you in on the real secret.

There are just enough Canadians here that our niceness is rubbing off on the rest.

Would have told you earlier, but we're too humble.

Now you know.

Have a nice day, Everyone.

Seriously though, I agree with the 'older crowd that for the most part is happy to turn their own wrenches and isn't afraid to learn something new' theory.

I own a small cigar shop and this forum always reminds me of a day at the shop. We have doctors, lawyers, garbage men, all walks of life. They all get along, they all love to sit and enjoy a great smoke together.

You're right it is a great job. Smoke cigars, drink coffee and shoot the breeze with the customers and get paid to do it.
