How come our community is so nice compared to others?

I've been thinking about this for a while:

On most forums its a battle of "my dick is bigger than yours."

Here, we're all friends for the most part. We've never met and don't know that many people's real first names even - but we help, listen, disagree but understand.

I won't name specifics, but I am on other automobile maker forums and it is disgusting. Whether its the "know-it-all" who everyone looks up to and whom talks down to others...or the parts dealers who are all in seeming collusion. Here we don't have these issues (knock on wood). The question I pose is: why is this forum so unique in the vast internet age?

Just go into PARF, you will see the real name calling and mud slinging.

The moderators keep the OT pretty clean. Thank You moderators one and all.

Yup. For whatever reason Porsche seems to appeal to a slightly older and more adult crowd (generally speaking). I'm 30, and very rarely see anyone younger than I am driving a Porsche. Maybe it's the price of entry and parts, I dunno. Though I've been on Audi, BMW, and Mercedes forums that seem to be mostly populated by illiterate ricers.

Frankly, I think it's because I add a touch of class to the place.

Because we are all Porsche owners and therefore all have small wieners?

It's not just because it is a Porsche forum. There are other Porsche forums that are full of snobs, wannabes, and ricers.
It might be that the DIY air cooled crowd is a different demographic?

Because classic air cooled Porsche owners have what it takes to own such fine vehicles: That is taste, class, education, modesty, and the brain that goes with true engineering abilitiy. These fundamental qualities also are reflected in all non-Porsche related discussions .

I don't know exactly, but it works. Maybe it is the all around great sense of humor found here.

Samba seems as good

I think Wayne was smart to create PARF - it cleaned up OT quite a bit.

Because Wayne and the moderator run a tight ship... if you want to view porn... fine, there are a few thousand websites for that... but not here.

No threats of inflammatory language allowed.

We are a very diverse group, we have liberals and conservatives, college age and retired, people posting from all over the states and all over the world.

and we are all latent homosexuals.
