I do it all the time (well, most times I have socks). I wear Merrills a lot (slip-on and they look dressy enough to get away with for work) and it's nice to just slip 'em off and air things out down there occasionally. I think with the rubber nubs on the pedals (Mercedes) I get better grip with just the socks anyway! I've never had my foot slip off (have you ever tried to slide cloth past rubber?)

It actually is illegal in Oregon (which is probably why Randy posted it). It's an old law, pretty seldom enforced. I think it's actually left over from Model T days.

I have Rennline pedals, they're stiff, with lots of sharp holes in them and I only ever drive the 993 with good shoes laced up, never flip flops or sandals.

Uh, I don't think its illegal, at least not everywhere. I'm fairlycertain that it's not illegal in FL.

you didnt have my answer, rarely. I generally only drive barefoot if I'm on a loooooong drive. My mother just moved, but up until now, I used to make the 8-9 hr drive to/from her place once or twice a year. Those trips were almost always barefoot. For anything short or local, I'm comfy enough in shoes or sandals. I don't do flip flops. I wear sandals that have heal straps so they don't slide around on me feet. They wear like shoes.

I wear very comfortable shoes. Why would I want to drive barefoot?

It is illegal in FL too, and most of the time I wear shoes, but sometimes for a long drive I will go shoeless..

Generally always, just have more control barefoot since my shoes are generally $20 cheap sneakers or I'm wearing sandals. Barefoot is just more comfortable

do you know the cite?

I think I once looked for the law, but could not find it. A long time ago I was told it was illegal in Louisiana (but some good fraction of the pop'n only recently started to wear shoes, so...).

I do it from early april to late november. That's when I wear flip-flops and it's safer to go bare than to drive with them on.

I don't think it's illegal here tho, if it is they don't enforce it.

Only when I wear flip flops (which is seldom). The pedals just don't feel right in flip flops.

I don't because I don't like the way it feels...but I do drive pants less sometimes because I do like how it feels.
