Make Bruins Great Again

FWIW, I was at the Barber IRL last year. Here's a pic of her paddock area:
![]() The other drivers had 1/5 the number of fans. Say what you will but she draws the crowds and that is good for ticket sales and sponsorships.

Joe,
I edited the term I used in my reply to your post. I shouldn't have said that. That being said, her race strategist should be fired. She pits and they skip putting on new rubber so she can gain 3 spots to get to 3rd place. Now she has to run the rest of the race on worn soft tires. Then, after she loses 15 places in the next 20 laps, she pits with 5 laps left to get new rubber. Doesn't she have the balls to say to her race strategist give me new tires I need them to finish? Stupid on both of thier parts I think. There was plenty of talk of Milka last year. We'd be talking about her now but she's not running is she?

Again, I don't think anyone is saying she can't draw a crowd or is not marketable. She has everything but speed.

Paul: I followed your lead on the editing.
I agree that her strategist blew it bigtime. Of course, if somehow they were able to make it work he would have been a genius... I don't see how since no matter what they did she'd have to run 2/3 of the race on one set of tires or make another pit stop. I have seen other teams do dumb things like stay out so that they can say they led a lap at Indy but then go the back of the pack quickly after the green flag drops. I guess it made for good theater and got the sponsorship on the TV screen so maybe they aren't so dumb? Duno was a fiasco. I can't understand how they let her continue driving through the end of the season yet, she got less harassment than Patrick.

First off, Anna is prettier than the two of them combined. Second, Patrick has had more success than Anna. That said, she does better with getting sponsorship than trophies. Anna never won a major but Patrick did win Motegi and even had a shot at Indy.

Can someone start a "Why we Hate Tony George" thread.
He should be tarred, feathered, quartered and then fed to pigs for what he did to open wheel racing.

Probably true but, that is open wheel racing for the last 10+ years. Strategy wins races. The outright fastest car and/or driver's ability only puts you in a spot where the strategist can win the race. Very few races are won solely based on the car and driver being faster.

Auto racing is not a sport. Its a business. Even the drivers talk about putting on a "good show". Its all about attracting fans to be able to justify selling sponsorships. Elite athletes in many "sports" make ten time the money on sponsorships than they do in salaries or prize money.

Not to get off topic, but while doing research on the subject I came across this part from Milka Duno's wikipedia page:
"Duno holds master's degrees in Organizational Development, Naval Architecture, Maritime Business, and Marine Biology,[4] and she has prior experience working as a naval engineer.[5]" .... the f$&k?
